PS3 Purchase

Well, I've recently gotten myself a PS3, and I'm going to get myself two more games in addition to the LBP and InFamous that came with it. One of them is MGS4, but for the other, I can't decide between Resistance 2 or Killzone 2. Both reviewed about the same, and both look like they'd be fun.

Any suggestions?

Killzone 2 is better than Resistance 2 IMO. Better multiplayer, its still has alot of players even now and I liked the campaign better too.

MGS4 is $20.
A headset is $40.
Both Resistance 2 and Killzone 2 are $40, meaning I can only pick one.

I would pick Resistance 2, just because I had more fun with it than the limited time I had with Killzone.

I would get resistance, but i like aliens better, although i think the helghast are aliens too. They are a lot like the combine.

I would go for Killzone 2. I picked up Resistance 2 a while ago, and I didn't have much fun with it...the whole time, something just felt off to me.

I'm going to say Resistance 2 because I'm an Insomniac fanboy, but honestly, I haven't played enough of either to tell you which is better, as I just played them both at Gamestop for a few minutes.

May I recommend, however, 3D Dot Game Heroes, as I have a one-track mind, I'm currently playing through the title, and it is exactly $40. That, and it's freaking awesome!!! ...Just saying.

Tough call, both are good. Resistance has better controller customization though.

God of War 3 and any of the Ratchet and Clank games. Though R&C could just be part or my Crash Bandicoot nostalgia seeping out.

You can probably find a headset for less than $40 (that seems a bit excessive). My friend bought one for $25 and loves it, it's really comfortable and works well.

I've only played a little of Resistance 2 and the demo of Killzone 2. I didn't like the multiplayer on Resistance but that was just my personal taste. I don't know what it was but something seemed off about it to me.

Oh I do, I just don't have anyone who would ever need to reach me on a cellphone.

I'd wait for Killzone 3 when they're supposedly going to change the controls, right now with KZ2 they have this feature where the guns are tweaked to give the impression of weight, and it makes aiming sluggish.

Of course with all the people that have complained they're doing away with that feature.

Now if you really want a good shooter and if it doesn't have to be a FPS I'd go with Uncharted 2, never mind the Yahtzee review if you've seen it, it's one of the few games right now that matter.

Tough choice. Both are so different and both are good in their own way. If you have some friends. Get resistance 2, the spiltscreen online mode was made of win.
But Killzone 2 is just a great game. The character control is a thing you'll have to get used to but. Great campaign, great online and awesome graphics and sound.
I'd say get them both, it's worth it. Then return the one you don't like to the stores.
Or, you can buy them second hand, tis worth it...
