PS3 RPG's

OK, so, I've run into a bit of extra cash and have decided to bite the bullet and buy a PS3. I need your help escapist!! My wife and I are HUGE RPG fans (Any kind, even JRPGs) and need a decent list of good RPGs for the console, any help would be appreciated.

I hope it comes out in the Fall! I haven't seen a good action RPG in a long time.
You could always also go for some of the PS RPGs (FF7 and such)

The PS3 has had a bit of an RPG drought so far.
You have Oblivion, Fallout 3, Eternal Sonata, Valkyria chronicals(though that's not a conventional RPG), Folklore isn't really an RPG(still a nice enough game though).
Then there are the upcoming games like Tales of Vesparia, White Knight Chronicals, Demon's souls and Star Ocean 4.

I highly recommend Fallout 3, that game has syphoned away many hours of my life.

Eternal Sonata is the only JRPG that I've played on the PS3, cool game and very "wife-friendly". To the ones the posters above me have mentioned I would add The Witcher. On Fallout 3 I'd wait till October or something, when the GOTW pack will be released which will include all the expansions, you could buy it now of course if you're in a hurry but you'd basically be buying the original game twice.

Oblivion, Fallout 3, and any of the classics you can find on the network. I don't know if the PS3 has backwards compatibility (I doubt it) but if it does, I beg you to get Dark Chronicles.

When was Star Ocean 4 on the PS3? It's a 360 exclusive unless they announced a PS3 version recently.

When was Star Ocean 4 on the PS3? It's a 360 exclusive unless they announced a PS3 version recently.

Well a PS3 version of Star Ocean 4 recently showed up on the German Amazon, so it's still just a rumour, but taking into acount Squeenix's new policy on exclusives(ie. they're bad) I don't think it's that far-fetched.
And yeah silly me I forgot FFXIII, which should hopefully be good, whenever it's finally released.
Maybe even a tiny mention to FFXIIIversus, though there's not much point getting worked up over a game that hasn't had so much as a frame of gameplay shown so far.

White Knight Chronicles is coming out in Q1 2010.

Oblivion, FF7,and Fallout 3 jump to mind. And I'm not quite sure what category inFamous falls into but I reccomend it to anyone and everyone.

Mass Effect, its on PS3 as far as I know and I own it on Xbox360. The others have been covered...

Oblivion is brilliant, of course. Unfortunately the best RPG released this gen, Lost Odyssey is only on 360.

Valkyria Chronicles, Eternal Sonata, Disgaea 3, Oblivion, Fallout 3. You could also get FF7 off of the PS Store. Also if you're PS3 is backwards compatible, buy Persona 4.
