I got a PS3 Slim now, and personally I prefer it to my old fat one (and not just cause it died on me... I intend to run it over with a car soon and youtube it, so stay tuned!).

For one thing, it has a bigger hardrive, which is always a plus. On top of that, its a lot quieter, install times are faster, and it doesn't actually look all that bad... putting it side to side with the old version, the original PS3 suddenly looks boxed up and square around the corners, while the Slim has sexy curves pretty much everywhere. It definitely grows on you.

Besides, even if it doesn't look as good, the outside look isn't really what matters... Its whats inside the hood that really counts, and the Slim is definitely better there.

OT, I can't help but notice the 360's rather abismal sales continuing in Japan... :p the slump was expected really, and the fact that it did really well despite this just goes to show how much of a difference the price drop has made!

Well, that sucks. At least sales increased though. That's always a good thing. There are ways to revitalize those sale numbers though...

Make a special edition Uncharted PS3 Slim and pack the thing with Uncharted 2.

Well, it's to be expected, but those are still some damn good sales. Any numbers on North America or Europe? I'd imagine they'd be at least similar.

actually that's higher than normal for the 360 in Japan, usually it's half that. they don't sell that many 360s in Japan ever, only when a big Japanese centric games comes out and then it's only for that week

Well blow me down with a feather, who didn't see this coming? People get all hot for gimmicks until they figure out it's the same thing they could have bought a long time ago, it just looks different. Although I am surprised that the lower price didn't buoy sales for longer.
