so im moving out on monday ive got a good job with an employer who is kind enough to buy some university accomodation for us to live in for about a year. from what ive heard there is either no internet or its just weaksauce. so im looking for some decent PS3 singleplayer games, they dont have to be singleplayer only but need to have a long offline life span (also a decent splitscreen is a bonus)

so far ive got: GT5 (millions of hours of playability), MGS4, dead rising 2, borderlands, burnout paradise, operation flashpoint and red dead redemption

im gonna buy just cause 2, little big planet 2 (i can spend hours on create) and possibly mass effect 2

please dont recommend JRPGs, i dont know what it is but im just not a fan.

thanks in advance :)

Honestly, it sounds like you're already set up pretty nicely. Those should last you for a year if you're the kind of player who takes the time to get through each game and maybe go back to do extra stuff. Just Cause 2 especially is a massive, massive time sink. Anyway, if you've got Red Dead Redemption I'd suggest Grand Theft Auto 4 (by now I think you can buy it in a pack which includes all of the DLC that's come out for it). I would also suggest Fallout 3 (game of the year edition being a must) and, New Vegas. That should keep you occupied for your year and probably quite a while longer.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.

Valkyria Chronicles. Good gameplay, a 20-30 hour story, plenty of replay value, and DLC. I spent an entire summer vacation playing this game. And I highly recommend playing it.

Yeah, Just Cause 2 is practically endless fun. I have it for over a month now and still don't get bored of blowing up stuff. And I'm just at the third story mission or something.

I could have sworn he said no JRPG's...
I could have sworn JRPG's and turn-based strategy games were two completely different genres...

Oh, and Uncharted 2 is pretty good.

Technically, it's a bit more of an TBS game with RPG elements, but yeah. I didn't see that part of the post. :p

Sorry about that OP.
