PS3 v 360 exclusives 2012

I have both too. The only reason I hang onto the PS3 is because it supports 3D movies also (I know, unrelated to topic). As mentioned above the Uncharted series is kind of cool too.

For all of you completely forgetting the highly rated and great games that couldn't be found on any other console this year for the 360:
Gears of War 3
Forza 4
Dance Central 2 (yes it's Kinect, but it's a great game and isn't meant to be hardcore)
Mortal Kombat
Halo CE: Anniversary (relaunch, but still awesome)
Bastion (console exclusive)
Radiant Silvergun
-then take all those big games like Battlefield 3 and MW3 and see how much more popular they are on the 360 than any other console AND the fact that MS gets first DLC dibs. Plus the 360 sold 1.7 mil units in the US in November (record-setting 1 mil units sold the week of Thanksgiving). Shows you how many people are flocking to the 360 as it does multimedia & gaming so well. And don't diss Kinect. It doesn't have a ton of good games, but it has several and the technology alone is #1.

Why keep a PS3? Well if you haven't played Uncharted, Infamous, etc and never really intended to, then there's absolutely no reason to keep your PS3 as those are most of the games worth playing on that console. This next year doesn't lend incentive to continue PS3 fanboy-tendencies, whereas 2012 has some big and promising titles coming for the 360 only (Halo, Ryse, Witcher 2, etc). Again, if you aren't big on the couple of strong titles that launched this year only on the PS3, then ditch your PS3.

Mortal Kombat isn't a console exclusive seeing as how two of my friends have PS3's one of them goes to fighting game tournaments and the PS3 I will say is better for that. I also am pretty sure the Witcher 2 isn't an exclusive either seeing as how its been out for the Computer for a while. You are forgetting that this is EXCLUSIVE IE not availible anywhere else.

OT: PS3 is admittedly my system of choice, as it goes full 1080p, etc. That said, the exclusives are what sold me. The ones that I like are on PS3: Metal Gear, God of War, Team Ico, inFamous, etc.

I really wish they would port Lost Odyssey to PS3 though... I made it all the way to the end and moved (playing roommates 360)...

Xbox has Halo 4 next year and PS3 has The Last Guardian, Twisted Metal, and Dust 514. God of War 4 is rumored for next year as well.

You forgot Ni No Kuni, Ruin, Sly 4 and The Last of Us. And that crossover fighter.

Last of Us is 2012? Doubt it, considering they just released Uncharted 3

Yeah, I am an old-schooler, so my frame of reference is totally different. I remember the ads for the original PlayStation, and how they blew everyone's minds.

I don't really play online so trophies are kinda preferable for me, but again, I am locked into Sony (can't wait for the Vita!). Also, I don't have roommates or anybody living with me, so piggy-backing isn't an option

Recent release date for Tales of Graces F at 3/13/12. If you like JRPGs you really need to play the tales series, or if you don't like turn based combat you should play it.

I personally use my computer, but my progression went like this:
Pc->GBA->Gamecube->Wii->Xbox360->Ps3+psp->Pc.

Only had one major platform at a time until xbox360, when I got Tales of Vesperia for xbox360 and several open world games that went well with the music replacement feature (a feature that is continually neglected in any discussion about xbox vs ps3). Then I got a ps3, but mostly ignored it other than exclusives. Then I went off to college and could only take one console, so I took the one with more/better exclusives (excluding Vesperia both because I have finished it 4 times and I'm still waiting for the PS3 port). Then I started playing multi-platform games on my new laptop, which combines portability and steam (=sales=win).

OT: Keep the PS3, it has more/better exclusives and free online (if you care), and can still play blue-ray movies. This is assuming you can't sell the ps3 for enough money to buy a blue-ray player and ANOTHER ps3 with money left over.

How does the 360 do multimedia well when you can't even put media on the hard drive? You have to burn a music CD then rip it to the 360 hard drive just to put music on the hard drive, that's just stupid. And, you can't put video files on the hard drive either. The PS3 can play any h.264 video stream without transcoding. The PS3 plays XVID video WITH SOFT SUBS, something the 360 doesn't support. You gotta pay for Live to use Netflix, really stupid. And, the PS3 obviously does Blu-ray.

I find it odd you use the xbox for multi-plat and not the PS3?

I'm in a similar boat of having both and tend to use the PS3 in favour of the Xbox - primarily because the Xbox is one noisy ass ***** with it's fans and what not whereas the PS3 doesn't even give a peep.

I've never noticed any significant difference between the machines either - I borrowed GTA4 off a friend so I could compare against my PS3 copy and it's all much of a muchness.

So for me, lacking of annoying background noise wins out I was just curious as to why you go the other way? Is it online play? I don't go online much, more of a single mode player.

Most of my friends play Xbox and my Xbox is a slim one so it's not really that noisy

No need for sorries, Microsoft has to step up. Fable III sucked. Halo and Gears of War have become snore fests. Kinect has 3 good games. I would trade all of them for LBP, InFamous, Ratchet and Clank, Modnation Racers.
