My PS3's been acting a little more than funny lately.

When I turn my PS3 on, it seems like it is running perfectly, but as soon as I put a disk in it, my PS3 starts clicking and it makes the same noise it does when it spits the disk out, but the disk is still inside.

I have no yellow lights or anything type of error message on the screen.

***(Also, oddly enough, the only disk that DOES work in my PS3 is Naruto: Blad Storm. InFamous, Star Wars: Force Unleashed, MGS4, ect. do not work and will not read on my PS3.)

Anyone know what's going on?

Might be something wrong with the disk drive. You might want to call Sony and see if they can help you.

*sigh* I was hoping to avoid customer disservice. I may have to call them. It's odd though, because Naruto will play while the others don't. I figured if it was a problem with the disk drive, NONE of my games would work.

I would say it's a problem that it's not properly detecting the disk, but that doesn't explain why it only reads one of them.

I had a similar problem with my first PS3. After about 9-10 months it started getting picky about which discs it would or wouldn't read. As time went on the problem became more severe until eventually it wouldn't read any disc of any format. Luckily it was still under warranty (extended store warranty I mean) so I got it replaced.

Check your warranty and call Sony's tech support line IMMEDIATELY.

The fact that it reads some discs and not others indicates either a laser problem, because some discs could be dual-layered while others are single layered. Could be a problem with the Blu-Ray as well. Is Naruto a blue disc?

Or, it could be a spin problem, as you said you're hearing clicking. The spin problem would also mean that discs of a certain weight would be fine but heavier or lighter discs might not spin properly. This could also explain why some work and some don't.

Either way, laser or spin problems should be covered under your warranty unless it's expired.
