I'm actually pretty amazed... for the amount of work needed for this, PSN is coming back up pretty quick. Part of me thinks they're cutting corners... But I could be wrong.

I need to get back in the industry.

All I keep hearing about is developers, developers, developers, developers...

OT: Good idea sorting out the business side before the consumer side. Consoles like the PS3 and 360 aren't worth anything without 3rd party devs.

The sudden influx of information is just going to crash the servers once they go back online anyway. Millions of people simultaneously connecting to the network is going to cause a traffic overload. PSN will still be down once it's up.

The problems with new and old accounts is the 'personal information', according to some. I had a similar problem when accounts were hacked at NCSoft. They wanted personal information like game s/n and CC#s from 6+ years ago to reactivate hacked accounts, and I didn't have that. Devs are having trouble unlocking old accounts because they can't find this kind of info after 5 years.

But this is good, devs are going through this process so we don't have to, hopefully. My biggest burn with the situation is that my PS3 died during the outtage, so my digital downloads, DLC, and cloud saves are unavailable to me until it's back up. I know I'll have to use email confirmation to get my account back up as well, which I'm okay with.

I'd expect parts of the PSN to be back up within a week, with the rest being up by their deadline of May 31. It's funny, because by the time it's back up, I'll have LA Noire and Witcher 2; I won't be too worried about online gaming for a while anyway. Still, it'll be good to have the ability to play YDKJ or LBP2 online with friends again.

Hmm...wasn't there a CFR that allowed people to fake dev credentials using a standard PS3?:)

Just thinking out loud here:p

that makes
3:playthroughs of Portal 2
1:time victory in Civ IV
100-200:matches in TF2
30:races in Mario Kart

all done within the PSN outage, and since it will be back up soon might as well display those statistics

Hmm....Personally I do not care. All I want is for it to come back up so that I can get my free PC Version of Portal 2.

Seen as I don't have the ability to get online with my PS3 at home, I don't even need willpower, just lazyness. Which I have plenty of. But I was really hoping not to miss out on any of the free stuff thats only for 30 days, but seen as its not back up fully yet, the most I'll miss is a week, which isn't so bad.
