When I first bought my PS3 I made a user name. Then I signed up for PSN. The user name and PSN name are just slightly different (I should go back and switch the username to fit my PSN account.) How do I know if I'm signed into my PSN or user name or are they the same?

The user name is just the name of the profile on your console, it doesn't mean anything. I guess a good comparison would be the name you give your computer when you install Windows and your Steam name. I don't use Steam or play PC games, but I assume when you play online with a game you bought from Steam, you name to other players is your Steam name. Your computer's name is rather meaningless and you can change at any time like your user name on the PS3, but you can't change your PSN name unless you make a new one.

I'm not sure because I have it that my PSN account is on and I have a different username. I got a trophy in Bioshock, but it didn't show up on my PSN account.
