Ive done a quick search and cant find anything. I just want something to find out what people are playing. Im assuming Resistance 2 would be the most popular at the moment.. but im not finding as many people online as I thought. I dont have a 360 but if theres any live stats with what people are playing online with that it would be interesting.

Please keep anti PS3 comments to a minimum please..

huh? what does this have to do with a spy?

Otherwise, sure the community is smaller, still fun though.

He wants someone who knows the PSN better than him to give him info about the community, meaning he wants someone to "spy" and report how many servers they can find and if there are many people playing.

On Topic: Im not quite sure as i dont own any next-gen console (think they all suck except for Wii's Virtual Console, Retro <3), But from what i've heard/seen from friends the Playstation doesnt have as good online play as the 360, but should still be enough for someone to find a server and play, none of my mates have had any troubles with that, sure, the selection has been small, but its always been there.

Server Spy is a term to for looking at servers. Just to see how populated they get at particular times and stuff.

ie. at 6pm there are xxx amount of players playing CoD4 etc..etc..

Im just wondering if there is anything like this becuase most of the times I go to play any consoles online theres only just enough people around to fill a server

Some games show how many people are playing online at the moment, but the only one I know of is Call of Duty 5.

Either way, the PSN community is smaller than the LIVE community, but either way you get to play against people, so I have no real major complaints about it.

What thell does spy have to with anything, Scratch that what does this post have to do with anything? Are you trying to figure out the most popular game? Why and how would you do this?
Go to nearly any online gaming network and they will have a server spy telling you how many people are playing each game and when they get peak traffic and such for each game they offer. Online PC gaming has been doing this since forever, wondering if consoles had the same type of thing, it looks like they dont since most people dont know what I am talking about apart from fronken whos spot on.

These type of stats will be interesting for me because I might not bother getting some games which dont have much of a community.

Eh only the big games really have any sort of community, last I played COD4 it was around 140K at any given moment (360) but unreal 3 probably had less than 200 people on and most games where only half full with bots filling the rest of the team. So i'd assume it's the same for PSN more than enough for the big games COD and warhawk MGS4 and just a smattering of people for the rest.

halo 3 tells how many total are playing and how many are playing the type of match your playing. also gives a world map with white dots were people are playing. mostly in the US though on eastern side
