PSP acting odd

I went to get the games for my PSP when I noticed that it did something odd again. I hadn't played it for a while but when I went to turn it on it had no battery life. I thought that was odd since it was not dead last time I saw it and this happened the last time. I went in and had renter the date and time. I think this is the third time this has happened. The PSP will die after not being used for a while and I have to renter the date and time. Is this normal and I'm just stupid?

If it's like some other electrical devices with batteries. Like my old Gameboy etc if you leave the battery a long time without charging i've noticed it slowly loses power until it needs to be recharged etc.

I noticed this happens with my PSP as well. It seems to not hold a charge very long if you aren't actively using it.
