PSP games for in between class

The only 2 psp games I have spent a lot of time with are K-on! hogako live because one I like the show and two I like rhythm action games so was perfect for me but it is a bit niche I suppose.

The other one is Dissidia duodecim I could never get on with the first Dissidia and if not for circumstances at the time would not have got and played Duodecim but I am glad I did as once you actually crack its shell (which takes a while) and get beyond trying to win by just mashing buttons it is a suprisingly enjoyable and different brawler with a reasonable amount of strategy, it is however a slow burner dont expect to be able to get into it straight away oh and the story is naff but the journey is quite fun.

I have always wanted to try half minute hero but so far I havent done so, many like the monster hunter games but they werent for me you could also try Disgaea I didnt play the psp version much because I already had the PS2 version but if it hooks you then you will be ok for something to play for a while no matter how much or little time you have.

Have you tried socializing?

What you need is a game that can be paused, saved or turned off without any loss of data. I would not recommend driving games since even though you can pause you're likely to forget what kind of situation you were in before you paused and lose control when you start driving.

It's a technical college, so age groups and schedules are all over the place. It's pretty hard to find someone with remotely the same interests.

OT: As of now, I'm highly considering FF Tactics and Dissidia. Maybe one of the God of War games. I know Ghost of Sparta has already been recommended, so if no one else says otherwise, I'll look into that one.

Chalk another vote up to FF Tactics and Dissidia. Brilliant games, and Dissidia is a damn good pick up and play game with how fast battles can be. Hell any portable fighter is pretty much a good pick up and play type game. Soul Calibur Broken Destiny is pretty sweet and so are the portable Blazblues (although CS2 has longer load times)

And since Dissidia has already been recommended, thus nulling my obligatory response, I must move onto my secondary game suggestion:

Ys7 and Ys3 (aka: Oath in Felghana). Fast paced, deep, fun, and engaging action adventure/RPGs; with simple yet fun stories, character, hectic combat, and AMAZING music. Play'em, love'em.

Oh and if you don't mind racing games, Wipeout Pulse is an awesome game that I sunk many college break hours into. Awesome and crazy racing games that are great for small bursts, and you can even upload your own sound track to the game too.

I wouldn't recommend FF Tactics as that's the kind of game you're supposed to spend hours at a time playing.

Anyways, whilst I only own it on DS, Worms Open Warfare 2 is very fun in relatively short bursts. Awesome multiplayer too.

Final Fantasy Tactics

They are both the same game, the difference being that the PSP version has a clean, better translation, and really really pretty event scenes. The ONE issue with the PSP version is that the game has slowdown when any offensive character action is enacted (attacking, casting, summoning, skills). It's annoying and a glaring issue that should have never been, but if you can get past that, it is the superior version.

It can be irritating, but it wasn't a deal breaker for me.

I love Worms, but the PSN version is too expensive as of now.

Back to FF Tactics, would it work to start it up at home and play for a bit to get into it, so I can just pop it out every once in a while, or does it simply not lend itself to that kind of gameplay?

Metal Gear Solid: Peace walker: Has a mission based structure that differs from the original Metal Gears so that you can complete a couple missions every break you have.

Star Wars: Battlefront 2: Pretty much the same thing as Peace walker without all the base managment and boss battles.

Thanks for the nice little descriptions and the input. I've heard a lot about the Persona games on these forums, but they've never seemed like quite my game. I'll put that idea on the back burner for a while.

A second recommendation for Peace Walker. I'll take it into strong consideration. There's no reason why I shouldn't love the MGS games. Stealthy games are so much fun. I think I'll get it.

As for Battlefront 2: I already own it on PC and, yes, it's a total blast, but I think I'll stick with PC.

OT: I've made at least one decision. Someone here mentioned FF9, and I loved what I played of FFVII, so I'm gonna go ahead and just jump into that one, especially since it's hard to get one straight answer out of you people regarding FF .

Like I said, there's no shortage of LocoRoco demos, so just look around. If there aren't any on the PSN store, I guarantee there are are some you can download and put on your PSP via USB connection. There should also be a Patapon one, so I'd recommend trying that one out too.

They just released a third one last year too and it's sweet. Takes a rather different turn from the first two in that you only have four people (or one person with some others controlling their own person if you do co-op) that are each plenty powerful. So yea, I'd certainly recommend both the sequels.

I third peace walker. Awesome game if you can cope with the slightly awkward controls (no damn sceond analouge!)

I also second wipeout pulse. If you have ever played wipeout, you know what to expect. Plus it is LONG. I have been playing it on and off (Most played psp game im guessing) for about 3-4 years and i still havnt beaten all of the singleplayer. Plus it has LOADS of tracks, which is nice for a change.

Of course! It's a great game. But it's a tactical RPG. You could spend 30 minutes of your time at the shop and going through a cutscene, and not even begin a single battle.
