A little quick backstory:

At my job, I have a lot, and I mean a LOT, of downtime. Given that I generally work alone, I like to take my PSP along to keep me occupied for 18 hour shifts and the like. Problem is, I don't have a huge amount of games for it, and most of what I do have is getting old quick from replaying.

So, I'm looking to find out about any particularly good PSP games I should be getting. And no, I don't have a DS or 3DS or anything, and am not immediately looking into purchasing one.

Also I have no access to wireless internet at work, so any suggestions involving that are unfortunately out.

Games I have:
-Star ocean 1&2
-Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters
-Half-Minute Hero
-FF8(off the PS store)
-Resident Evil: Director's Cut(same thing)
-Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep
-the 3rd Birthday

Haven't finished the last two yet, they're recent purchases, but it made my shift fly by a lot faster so I'm looking to pick up more.

Persona 3 Portable: 50+ hours of goodness.
The Disgaea ports are great time sinks.
Those are my top recommendations.

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker took me about 36 hours to get to its true ending, so if you're into that sort of game its a good one to get.
There's two God of War games on PSP worth getting.
Resistance: Retribution is a good shooter, as far as PSP shooters go, but probably requires you to be interested it the series already to really appreciate it.
And I'll have to second the recommendation for Persona 3 Portable. (Which is finally coming out in Europe in less than 2 weeks!)

Monster Hunter is notably missing here.

I actually bought a Monster Hunter game when I first got my PSP, and couldn't get into it. Hadn't played it online, I assume that's the entire draw to it.

Like i said though, no wireless where I'm at, so that would have to be out.

Dissidia, 120 hours in I hadn't even passed all the story modes. It might get a bit repetitive though as most of the fights are quite similar and the computer cheats like no tomorrow. I eventually gave up because of this.

Well with MH it really depends what kind of game you are into. It caters to the kind of gamer who is about player and character developent rather than story or level design. Some of the creatures and battles are great, but most of the draw of the game is in the equipment systems. And of course, multiplayer does make the game a lot more interesting. So if you can't get online and don't have anybody else who you could play with, you could probably give it a miss. But if it is your kind of thing, it can really suck you in and take a lot of time.

If you are gonna play Dissidia, pick up the new Dissidia 012. the complete story of the original is included in that game, it has more characters and the gameplay has been tweaked a bit.

If you can, get Tales of Eternia, it's great for the PSP, the voice acting is a little terrible, but you can choose to turn it off.

Dissidia 012 is also brilliant, And Final Fantasy: Crisis Core is a must have for someone into RPG's that has a PSP.

I haven't been looking into PSP games for over a year, but whatever the new Star Wars Battlefront that is on the PSP is a game you should get. I got Renegade Squadron a while ago and the space battles are among my favorite video game memories.

ObsCure and Manhunt 2. Real survival horror
I don't own a PSP, but I've tried both games on PC. Loved them, but never played them through.
When The NGP comes around, I will be getting it, and buy both the games to it on PSN.

Loco Roco should be an essential PSP purchase. It's so gleefully cheerful, you simply must play it.
"Gleefully cheerful" or "High-pitched and annoying"? I seriously couldn't stand it!

As for PSP recommendations: Are you able to play any PSone game bought on the PSN? Cos if so: Crash Bandicoot Warped, CTR and Rayman 2 are all brilliant.

There's something wrong with you if you don't crack a smile as those grinning yellow blobs sing in harmony.

You listen to that and tell me you don't want to sing along.

Dammit! Ninja'd on the very first post!
I will add Prinny 1 & 2 to that list as well as Final Fantasy Dissidia. All pretty action packed and I got at least 20 hours out of each of them.

EDIT: Add Final Fantasy: Crisis Core to the mix, it was in every way better than the original in my opinion. Zack is a WAY more likable character to Cloud and the cinematics in the game are just gorgeous, even on a PSP.

If your fond of RPG's, which your list suggests your atleast partially as such, Dissidia Duodecim just came out and that game offers ALOT of playtime, Im already at 200 hours xD.

Its actually a sort of RPG fighter blend, but the combat system is original enough to just be considered a 1 on 1 style Action RPG, as there is plenty of levelling and custumization to satisfy.

My biggest reason to recommend it would just be the sheer level of play time people seem to be able to log on it.

Otherwise, a new RPG came out about a week ago called Trials in the sky, standard tactical 4 member team turn based RPG which, as the box says "OVER 50 hours of main storyline! Not even counting side quests!". So yeah, PSP rpgs are known for their time sink ability, which sounds like what your lookin for.

*Digs out PSP* I haven't got shedloads of games for it, but out of the games I have, I'd probably recommend Valkyria Chronicles 2. Closely followed by Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness.

I would actually recommend trying one of the many free loco-roco demos.
I really like the games but I can see how they could really annoy some.

psp games that always come with me:
gta Vice City Stories
Valkyria Chronicles
Burnout Legends (NOT Dominator, which sucked)
