I don't think the PSP Go was a bad idea, it was just too early for an all digital handheld. Anyway, I'm quite content with my PSP 3000 and will be until the NGP arrives. In which case I will squeal like a little girl the moment it is handed to me over the counter in the store. I will figure out how to deal with whatever reaction I get later.

It was an interesting idea with a seriously flawed execution, and I seriously doubt even Sony took the thing seriously. I mean, if they did, they would have probably developed it and promoted as the newest PSP generation.

The idea of a download only device was interesting, but the lack of backwards compatibility with UMD games, the inability to transfer your old PSP games to the Go, and barely any of those past PSP games being available on PSN for download, it was a flop to start with.
