I know, I know, "Make you own decisions you bastard! Make up your own mind!"

Well, I have. Eventually I will get a PSP as there are some pretty neat games on it like the God of War, Loccorocco, and Patapon along with some other ones that refreshed my memory upon visiting the List of PSP games on Wikipedia (Metal Gear Portable Ops and the like)

So, i come out ot you Escapians. Help me with my purchase. I have already decided to get a PSP eventually. What bundle, if any, should I get? Is there any precautions I should know about before getting on? Any requirments for it?

I already have a DS, though i don't plan on selling it, I havn't got a good game for it in ages. I sold New Super mario brothers for some reason and I have Pkmn Mystery Dungeon and Star Fox Command. That's it, unless you count GBA games.

Totally. I love my PSP.

Though I haven't gotten a game for it in like, forever-- but it does have a few emulators and some music on it.

Had a PSP when they first came out. Realised I never used it as I read books when I'm not playing a (TV-based) console. Installed cracked firmware (my conscience is heavy). Played old arcade games for a day or so. Sold it for £200 to a "mate" (friend of an ex-girlfriend). Never looked back.

Total period of owning PSP = a month. Total time using PSP = around four days.

EDIT: apologies Jumplion, but I was the same as you in the reasons for buying it at first, I just realised I never used it. Have to say Patapon looks good though.

Just REALLY think about when you would use it before parting with cash is my advice.

I'm not actually that into portable gaming, but maybe that's because I don't have any decent games for my DS. My friend has all the good games and I usually borrow them but he will never let me save over his own file or save on a second file. I do love some of hte games on the DS (Elite Beat FUCKING Agents 2 where the hell are you?) but even my friend wants me to get a PSP (mainly for Patapon).

EDIT: You know, that's not really helping Cartoon Head.

EDIT 2: You know, this is pretty familiar. Does anyone remember what it was like in the Begining of the PSP? No games. Even I fell into the "PSP sucks" crowd because I believed there were no games for it. Now...well, there are plenty of games. The GTA Stories games, GoW, Patapon, Loccorocco. Hell, go back to PS2, no games at first. guess what, games later. PS3; no games at first, games comming now.

At this point, I'm surprised no one has seen a pattern yet!

Of course you are right Bulletinmybrain... :p

Jumplion, I'll admit, I had my PSP in the 'early' days before any decent games were out - the PS3 wasn't even out!

You can play Monkey Island 3 and Final Fantasy VII on a custom PSP. That's enough reason for me. But honestly, I love my PSP. I use it for everything it was made for: Movies, Music and Games.
But it's pretty useless without a custom firmware, so make sure to get an older one.

Actually I was thinking about the commercials where the hand flips over the handheld and something whispers "PsP" like a heart beat. Weird...
