Psyconauts crashing problem

My Ps3 controller decided to work with my computer finally so i have gone back to Psyconauts. I am up to the stage in the bull fighting arena where you fight el odio. I defeat the boss but then during the cutscene afterwards the game crashes. Does anyone else experience this problem and if so can it be fixed.

I am playing through Game Tap.

I'd go on a proper psychonauts forum, or Double Fine's website. And check for patches, they probably have a fix for this.

When I originally played Psychonauts PC, I had some kind of issue with the video compression and rendering which would cause lockups and crashes. I bulled my way through (if you pardon the pun) by doing frequent saves. See if restarting the game and reloading the save right before you do the last thing that causes the game to crash solves the issue.

I generally love GameTap - less than a price of a game per year to check out all those games I was too busy slacking on MMORPGs to try when they were released - but one thing I loathe about them is that they have an unfortunate tendency not to apply patches on what they distribute. Consequently, I'm not sure if the GameTap version of Psychonauts is using all the patches released for instability or not.

As he's using the GameTap version, application of a patch is impossible for him. The games are served in an inaccessible virtual drive file.

Ah. I'm not too sure on GameTap, never use it, being in the UK really. So Double Fine or Game Tap's support are your best bet.

I plugged it in installed the driver and then it worked. At first when i did this it didn't but i tried using my PS3 controller about 3 months later and it worked fine.

Oh and i managed to get past it. I just had to keep trying to get through and try to skip the cutscene a few times.

Is the driver on there or do you have to download it?

I have a LOT of problems with Gametap crashing games on me. For example, I try playing Second Sight and can't get past the first floor where you wake up without it crashing.

I did not try the PS3 controller on anything before downloding the driver for windows in general so you could chek if it is on there or else just install the sixaxis controler for windows driver.

The driver is not an official Sony driver and i would also like to note that that website is related to picracy although the link i have given is not for piracy at all.
