Because I haven't written anything creative in over half a year (apart from contributing to a group detective fiction novel, but that was minor for me), and because I have nothing to do this summer, I was thinking of writing something. I'd probably be able to write a short story or two about the self-depravity of Russian America, but there's just one problem; I have no idea how I should publish my work. The most I know of is that they're usually published in literary magazines, but not only am I not up to speed on contemporary mags, I don't know how writers get their works in. I'm pretty sure that if I knew how work is generally published, I could find a half decent publisher; I am in NYC.
Perhaps also as a discussion topic, because there are a lot of writers on here; have you ever had any of your work published, or tried to have it published? How did the experience go?
