So, heres the story.

In several of my classes at school, there is a particular boy who has a tendency to jump into your conversations when he hears something he finds interesting (especially history). He then destroys the conversation with a long-winded (and somewhat verbose) filibuster.

My friends and I have a term for this, we call it pulling aggro.

So what I wanna know is:

Ever pulled some aggro IRL?
Did you tank it or hearthstone?

I have a friend very who's very similar.

He just chimes in on everything, and tries to relate it to his life somehow.
Usually we just ignore it, but lately I've been the one to just tell him that he's not involved.

I have a "friend" kind of like that. She has to say something about everything though, whether or not she really has something worthwhile to add to the conversation...so not sure if that's quite what you mean. xD

I totally had a friend like this. He was in a private school, and when we both ended up in the same public high school, he would try to jump into conversations with me or my friends. And we all lacked a polite way to tell him to go, so the conversations just tanked from there.

Where I'm from we call that narcissistic-self-centered-must-be-heard-attention-seeking. Naturally we ignore them.

I pull aggro by tanking in hostile situations. When someones pissed i jump and pull away from more valuble friends. Fights and arguments

I just deleted the words "I've never done it" because I probably have without really meaning to. Oops.

One of my most irritating housemates of all time used to do it a lot. His room was next to the lounge and he would come out midway through whatever he was doing to interject some massive opinion and try to rubbish half the arguments in the room. 90% of the time he was talking a load of balls of course, but it was bloody annoying (until we learnt how to push his buttons and deliberately coax him out just to point and laugh).

I have a friend who's sorta like that. The only difference is he usually adds in something pessimistic and negative regardless of what we are talking about.

I know a guy at my school like that. everytime me and my freinds talk about anime (a farely common occourance) he will always jump in the conversation and immediately say we suck because we dont like Naruto and Death Note, then when we bring up the flaws of those shows (i once told him to go read the manga of Monster and his response was "reading is stupid"...yet he watches anime with Subs. I facepalmed so hard i nearly cracked my skull) he does not counter our points and derides it as "our opinion" then loops back to the start of his conversation.

First i thought he just hasnt seen much anime, needs to expand his horizons...then i learnt he showed Elfen Lied to his 13 year old sister. That permanantley filed him in the beyond help section of the filing cabinet that is my mind.

Long and ranty.
probably shouldnt let one asshole get on my nerves that much

Lol, I was REALLY tempted for the sake of irony to pull one on this thread, lol. No, I don't really know anyone like that, although I do know someone who, once going, will not stop for the love of god talking about Warhammer, although nobody he talks to plays it.

I'm that guy that somehow always finds avenues for the conversation to continue in a fluid manner instead of falling flat. So you like that kind of thing? Is it hard to do? Do you find a future career in it?
Etc. etc.
