So i just spent a whole week thinking of ways to stick it to Microsoft. Don't get me wrong, i'm not a fanboy of any of their competitors. I just happen to think they like bending people over backwards for more money. So i spend most of my time thinking of ways to give them the finger. For example, i decided i didn't want to pay 100$ for a 2 ounce piece of plastic just to get wireless internet. So i set up a lan connection to my laptop and got wireless net through something i already had. Saved me a hundred bucks.

What do you do to stick it to the money hungry corporations or businesses? What shortcuts do you know about ,and or use, to save some cash?

Just call their support line and tell them your penis is stuck in your Xbox.
...What, I can't be the only one...

A buddy of mine is in the top 20 on Gears Of War and he has many of people behind him bitching about the crappy online play... if you can find a way, tell me.

LOL.
Microsoft is a company, company's want money, how is this news to anyone?
Sony is a company, Sony also wants money, Sony make dev's add extra content to their games so they SELL more.

All companies are money hungry. We just hear more from Microsoft, that's all =P

That was the first post that's made me actually crack up after reading it for a very long time. Thank you kindly, good sir!

stick it to Microsoft by pirating the Windows 7 RTM. Everyone wins in the end!

Wireless internet... what, to a 360? Hooked it up through a laptop, that you paid several hundred for, running Windows, I'm presuming, to then hook to a wireless router somewhere? Then we ask how much electricity your laptop burns Vs a small peripheral.

Is this really you sticking it to MS or just being obtuse?

Yes, and i'd stick it to Sony if i could in any way, but i don't have a Ps3 or PSP.

Nintendo are also bitches. Making all those damn expensive, and pointless, peripherals.

I don't mean just Microsoft, hence the wording of the questions.

No, i'm not being obtuse. My laptop does more than just get internet to my Xbox. And i use it for all those purposes. And i have it on all the time anyways. Usually even when i'm on Xbox. I did think that through though. I haven't changed any of my habits at all. I just didn't pay a 100 bucks to circumvent my laptops ethernet port.

Or acute?

All I know about Microsoft is they sell alot of things that should already be attached in the first purchase.

Both Sony and Microsoft are screwing their customers over, sony killed off Backwards compatibility and Microsoft lied about it, only 1/20 of their xbox games work in the 360. If you want though you can rebuy your old titles for both systems! That's something right? You know rebuying the game you already have and want to play on their system.

You know what would help companies sell epic amounts of extra games??? If they dropped the prices of the better games (the ones which are like $120 Aust.) to like $85 MAX. The other companies would be unable to sell many games if the other company had equal games but at better prices.
EDIT:
OT: Well you could always go to the main office and upend a bottle of vinegar on 3kg of baking soda...that would make a major mess. If you didn't want your cover blown just go shopping first and have your shopping bags their with you, like bread and milk and ceral + the vinegar and baking soda.

I never saw a Microsoft Goon standing over my shoulder when I bought my 360, ensuring that I also bought a MS certified wireless adapter to cover my wireless needs. There's no requirement there, they're offering a solution. A good one, as it goes. You stick the thing in, you configure it from your xbox and it works quite well. It's not so much sticking it to MS finding your own solution, it's more trading cash for hassle.

Sure, I could pay half of what MS charge for a second-hand wireless router, upload custom firmware to turn it into a bridge, configure the bridge to connect to the router, then plug it into my xbox and always have a second, powered device sitting next to it, turned on. But that's way too much of a clusterfuck for some people with an extra $50 in hand.

So, once again, is it really sticking it to the company who did sell you a game system that you enjoy enough to want connected wirelessly?

Microsoft says the Xbox360 is so cheap, but if you bought one - a regular one - and wanted a membership, and a wireless thing, you've already payed 40 dollars more than a PS3. That's for buying things that the PS3 already has... and the regular PS3 has more GB of storage. I'm not a Ps3 Fanboy, but I think it's a little bogus the way Microsoft is.
