Probably wouldn't touch something that might leave me in big pain for an hour. That would suck. Especially if I only get paid 50 pounds for it. That's not even enough to buy a game with.

Yeah, I'd do it. I'm poor and I'm in debt to my mom for $50 from when she lended me Skyrim money. Also I heard first day DLC came out for that but I'm not seeing it.

I mean even the amount of money is kind of small if you want someone to risk their life.

How about, I point 10 other people at the sign one at a time to see what happens and then make an informed decision.
It isn't supposed to be an amount of money that sets you for life, just an amount that would be enticing, that someone would really have to weigh the pain vs the reward.

I'd get someone else to go up next and see what happens, if the results are similar I'll move on, if they're different I'll give it a try.

Right, so you should make it enticing. It's not like $100K does that much for you. Only an idiot would agree to torture for such a relatively tiny amount.
That's more than 2 years of income for most people.

This basically, I'd base my decision on the next person who gave it a try.

Sure, why the hell not? I'm a lucky person, so I'll give it a go. If you want, when I win my $100,000 I'll treat you to something nice, nice a hot cup of Kopi Luwak.

The CHANCE at $100K in exchange for an hour of torture, that might even be more, and you'd be a complete idiot to go for that for just 2 years salary. Do people really have so little value for themselves? That's nothing for risking your life.

If you had said $10mil, then it could tempt people, and even then, with no evidence it wasn't a Darwin device well, no one with IQ near or above the average range wouldn't play the game.
You've obviously never been in poverty, living with only meal a day and no electricity until my parents finally got jobs. This sum of money is the world of difference for MANY people, and I'd be willing to risk it.
