Doesn't mean it isn't useful as a DVD or music player. I love using my ps3 as either of those things, they have no reason NOT to give it functionality other than just playing games.PANCHOVILLA said:They don't need to maintain servers, like they currently do anyway. The dedicated servers would be set up and run by the players. The same as PCs.
and Q is question. Like my question at the end of my paragraph.
Im sure not everyone uses the ps3 as a media center, but as a gaming console. When I bought mine I didn't think, "awe sweet man, a cool dvd player"
Yeah, when I saw Q the character from Star Trek: TNG came to mind...0oTheComedown said:And WTF is "Q" gotta have a little more detail in your headings.
I think you're assuming that the companies are in it so they can bring joy to the masses. They aren't. The more consumers they bring in, the more money they make, and people generally like money. So it's not about improvement, it's about the consumers. Basically, they already have a gamer audience by just selling consoles. No matter what they do, as long as they sell consoles they'll have that audience. What they want is a different audience to add onto that, and they add things like Netflix and BluRay to get that audience and make more money. That would be the A to your Q.PANCHOVILLA said:Its not about bringing in new consumers. It's about improvement. Although it's now clear to me why they arn't doing so.
I maek good speling and graemer lol.joebear15 said:nope sony is losing money on the consouls and needs game sales to actully surviveSuper Toast said:Welcome to The Escapist! I think it's because people will start buying consoles for different reasons, and therefore more PS3's will be sold and Sony will make more money. After all, Sony is a business, and businesses exist to make money.PANCHOVILLA said:Why are they, sony mostly, trying to get their consoles to be everything else rather than a gaming console.
