The Win10 requirements likely have to do with DirectX12 reliance but with system requirements like that it damn well look better than The Witcher 3 + Watch_Dogs at E3 put together. Nice to see the PC getting in on some of these supposedly exclusive XBone games.

BOOOOO!
Yeah, I read this: "Quantum Break's PC edition is the latest in Microsoft's wider push to expand its games across console and PC" and immediately interpreted it as "Microsoft's wider push to get people onto Windows 10".

It takes a lot more than shiny effects and polygon count to make one game look better than the other IMO. There's more to game's aesthetics than than. For example I still think that because of their art direction, Assassin's Creed 2, Mass Effect 2 and even Resident Evil 4 look better than some modern games with their boring aesthetics that aim for "realism" in graphics. Like this Quantum Break thing. It looks like a generic game with gimmicks.

Honestly?

What's the point of the XBone at this point? Most of its exclusives are coming to PC or have arrived already.

This kind of comment has been made in every discussion Ive read about this topic and it annoys me, not everyone who plays games also owns a gaming pc. Sometimes people just own consoles.

Yeah but as it's coming to PC I'm talking about things like MSAA, high res textures, plenty of post-processing options, PhysX, etc. You're talking about art style which I'm mostly okay with here. It's really in the eye of the beholder.

I just hope they don't pull a "Windows Store Only" thing and at least put a version on STEAM.
Too late, they just totally did [http://www.gamespot.com/articles/microsoft-exec-explains-quantum-break-pc-release-c/1100-6434780/]

"Quantum Break on Windows 10 is a Windows Store exclusive," Greenberg said when directly asked if the game would come to Steam.
Ehhhhhhh..... not sure how I feel about the MS store yet, haven't heard anything bad about it but not feeling the need to jump down that hole yet. Will see if the game is exceptionally good first.

Well, that sucks...

The Windows 10 Store is broken. There are many, many issues with the Rise of the Tomb Raider version from the store.

Want SLI/Crossfire support? Too bad. Win10 Store versions don't support that.

Want the ability to turn off V-Sync? Too bad. Win10 Store versions don't support that.

Want to use Windowed or Fullscreen? Too bad. Win10 Store versions don't support that. Borderless Windowed only for you!

Want to edit game files? Too bad. Win10 Store versions don't support that.

Want to launch directly from the EXE? Too bad. Win10 Store versions don't support that.

Want to use MSI Afterburner or PrecisionX to monitor your FPS/CPU/ETC? Too bad. Win10 Store versions don't support that.

Want to use any mods like SweetFX? Too bad. Win10 Store versions don't support that.

Want to record/stream it with OBS/ShadowPlay/Etc?? Too bad. Win10 Store versions don't support that.

Don't get me wrong, I'll be the first to say that Valve/STEAM need some serious competition (even though I prefer to buy most of my games via STEAM) but locking it down to the Win10 store while the Win10 store is in the state it is currently in is not acceptable.

Hah.... never thought I'd reach the day where I'd think "even GFWL is better than this"

Seriously, even the worst console ports have more basic features, like I'm trying to think up something witty to say here but all that comes up is "well fuck".

Well fuck.

I'm not sure I want to buy from the Windows store... but it's nice to at least have the option of playing this on PC. Wasn't expecting this news.

Of course, if nobody buys it on the Windows Store they might just release it on Steam or something anyway eventually, since they'll already have a PC version of the game.

This is part of Microsoft's attempt to try and push the Windows Store. As a Microsoft follower I know this has been a strategy that they've had on the cards for some time, expect them to put more PC titles in the store only in the future.

The unfortunate thing is, though, is the Windows Store IS a mess. It lacks any decent apps, it's full of junk apps, and AAA titles just aren't going to be as good as if they were proper Win32 apps for all the reasons RadioActiveLobster mentioned.

Also, if you like games quitting on you randomly, this is the platform for you. Windows Store apps just close for no reason, like, all the time. They don't even do error messages.

Er, there are games on the Xbox One? Maybe that's a "reason" a gamer [who prefers consoles] might buy a games console? Just putting it out there.

Quantum Break: I've barely seen anything of it, but the glimpses I have seen seem painfully dull. So, more people will apparently get the chance to play an uber generic IP? Great, I guess...

Nearly everything is coming to PC my friend so i dont see any reason to buy a console just for 5 exclusives.
