That's a strange request but yes, yes they can (or at the very least, they can ban you and then allow you to be reinstated once you request it; at least they used to).

PM a Mod and they can do it. Otherwise I suppose they'll eventually wander in here to fulfill your request.

I got forum addiction on some forum back in my trolling days and I don't want it back.

I got to do something.

Just request a 7 day suspension by PMing a mod. DON'T ask for one in the mod user group.

What they do is link it to your last forum post. It confuses quite a few people because it looks like you got mod wrathed for doing nothing... and then the "mods are too harsh/abusing their power" comments start...

I got to do something.

There's some programs and browser plugins you can get that will warn you if you head on to sites you can blacklist if you're worried about distractions (finals coming up and all).

They won't force you off, of course, but the sense of crushing guilt will take care of the rest for you.
