OK, so I heard that PSN is now getting back up and running. Sony have said we're all going to a get a free 30 day subscription to its premium services by way of an "apology" for all the problems they've had with their network.

My question is, when does this 30 day subscription run from? Does my 30 days start as soon as PSN goes online, or will the clock start ticking when I log in for the first time and download the new firmware update? I hope it's the latter, because I'm knee deep in exams right now and probably won't be using my PS3 for the next month...

They haven't even announced the rest of the Welcome Back package. When they announce the rest of it, then you will know when PSN+ starts.

Hopefully they will give us an activation key.
I'm stuck with exams 'till the 21st of June so I'm banking on them doing that.

I don't think it will end up being a 'you must have this thing' if people don't want the service I doubt it will be mandatory. But, as everyone has stated before, without the store being up, there is still no Welcome Back pack available yet.

I just think it'd be far easier for them to do a blanket activation of all accounts for 30 days as soon as their service is up, I could be wrong but I don't really see them doing anything else.
