I have a question about left 4 dead 2

are the campaigns from the first game on there? and are they adding more of them in the future?

I guess I waited a little too long to get the first game..though I am enjoying it Im not sure I want to get the second not only because of the censorship but because it costs more and its prabaly going to be a hefty download

Do you mean are the campaigns from the first game on the disc when you buy Left4Dead2? No they're not, if that's your question.

I think you might be able to download the rest as add-on campaigns, not sure though.

Steam will update your game and you get, for free. Two shorter campaigns called The Passing and The Sacrifice. You will also get No Mercy for free and the rest are on the way.

To add onto the previous poster (Almighty Grigard) The Passing and The Sacrifice bring a conclusion to the events of Left4dead 1. The Passing you play as the left4dead2 people and meet the originals (passing the torch see) and in The Sacrifice you play as Left4dead1 people. Canonically The Passing comes after The Sacrifice; if you play it you'll see why.

They're not on the disc, no. You can get No Mercy as DLC as well as The Passing and The Sacrifice. That's it.
If you're on PC I'm pretty sure the rest have been developed by fans for it...but as completely non-Valve maps.

To give you an idea of time, the other three campaigns from the first game are comming to L4D2 as DLC (I believe free if you're on PC, not sure about consoles) "after Portal 2 is released," according to Steam.

do you have to pay to download them?

anyway I dont think ill be getting number 2 anytime soon, I guess when they put the rest on there it will make the first game redundant if it hasnt already

The L4D1 campaigns are being released for L4D2 compatibility in May I think, free on the PC, for an undisclosed amount on the Xbox.

I can only get a few games of Scavenge now and then on the Xbox. It makes me sad. CURSE YOU, MY TERRIBLE PC.

PC no, Xbox yes.

The rest are coming out for L4D2 soon as well, but they are all made by the community already on PC, the I'm pretty sure the No Mercy campaign that was released on xbox was the community made version as well.

L4D2 is much better than 1 in my opinion, more game modes and more event triggers. It's not just camp from one spot to another, sometimes you need to pick up gas cans around a map to fuel something or run through the horde to turn off an alarm for example, instead of sit around in a corner waiting for everything to be dead before moving on.
