PhysX runs best with an SLi setup, one card dedicated to PhysX only. I have seen many people take older cards like 8800s and 9800s and use them as dedicated PhysX cards. Personally I love PhysX, really adds to the game, was really good in Mafia II, Alice: Madness returns, Metro:2033/Last Light and the Batman series.

Oh, right. I play on 1280x1024. 5:4 ftw! I have some serious letterboxing going on in Dark Souls though.

[small]Actually, I'm thinking about getting a 16:9 monitor...[/small]

I play on a 32 inch HDTV which claims to be capable of 1080p, but it's actually 720p, so I play most of my games at 1360X768.
That looks like an odd resolution. Isn't 720p supposed to be 1280x720?

Well, that's Mirth's Law for you. Software gets less efficient and more power hungry as hardware increases in power.

Well, it's a 720p TV, but it scales 768p a lot better than 1080p. It's a cheap HDTV, and everything looks very crisp anywhere between 1280X720-1366X768. Anything lower is obviously pixelated, and anything above becomes washed out and blurry. I have a second monitor that has a native of 1440p, but it's a 23", and since I sit relatively far from the screen it's not ideal to play games on.

What is PhysX meant to do? I turn it off in games that allow and to be honest I can't see a difference.
Here's a video showing what it does.

Basically it adds a bunch of particle effects/physics.
