just a quick one

I'm getting the impression this is a rather bad port, I mean it runs fine on my computer save for some lag

however I'm finding aiming with a mouse rather tedious...anyone else having this issue or is it just me?

Runs fine for me, what are your specs?

EDIT:

Also "Tedious" isn't really helpful, what's the problem?

its annoying to aim, like the tracking is off, doesnt feel like a technical issue(had this same issue in saints row 2) I figured mabye because he port was poor

BUT that said I mabye havnt played enough to judge (and some of that was on a couch..with a mosuepad though)

clear the dust out of your mouse laser.
hmmm....might be worth a try, thanks

No, he's right. There is mouse acceleration and it can't be turned off as far as I know.
is there where the game "feels" like its being controlled with the thumbstick?

No it's where the movement of your mouse represents a nonlinear increase in acceleration of your cursor onscreen.

move your mouse for longer, and the pointer speeds up, basically, it's pretty stupid now that gaming mice have 5000+ DPI.

Check the setting I think you can turn down the mouse acceleration to a minimum, it will still be there but it will feel less horrid.

There is a way to disable it completely in the games config files, if the aim is that crucial to you then uncle google will have more information on this.

Yeah the controls are pretty bad.
And fuck me the mouse acceleration gave me the shits, I had to turn my mouse DPI down to 800 ish from like 4800 and reduce the cursor speed (Tt black element) from 5 to 3.
There's also that one button that does fucking everything.

Can't you normally adjust the .ini for this sort of stuff?

Captcha: Love is automatic
Whoa. That's deep.

If the mouse acceleration is still annoying you, it is possible to decrypt the config.ini file, disable it (adjust the FOV as well probably, since I believe its locked to 75?) then encrypt it again and it will solve your problem. I know someone who had to do this, but I have not done it myself, so I don't know if there is any issues that arise from it, you wouldn't think so, but make backups as always.

If you don't want to resort to the more drastic fixes, lowering both mouse DPI and Polling rates should help minimize the effects of the acceleration. Or you know, plug in a controller haha.

Google will help you do any of this if you're not sure.

No there isn't actually. Config files are encrypted.

I looked into this a bit and found this [http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Spec_Ops:_The_Line#Encrypted_Configuration_File] helpful page. There's a link to a program that you can use to decrypt the ini files for editing, and then encrypt them back so that the game can use them. This way you can disable the mouse acceleration and increase the FOV.

Why developers insist on making it impossible to disable mouse acceleration from the game's options, I'll never understand. And even go as far as to encrypt the ini files. That's just stupid.
