First off if all your going to do is say why the one you have is the best and all other suck don't I just want to ask a question or and hopefully have a rational fairly well thought out conversation. I know that's asking alot what with this being the internet and all but any on to my question.

Does it really matter which console you picked as long as at the end of the day your happy with it and can have fun?

Only to those with security issues. I'm fine with my 360 and PC, and the games I have for them. I don't feel any kind of hatred towards any other consoles. The companies behind them, sometimes (Nintendo), but not so much for the consoles.
I do hate when people act like saying something negative about their system of choice is akin to kicking their mother in the ovaries, though.

I don't care what system someone has, however when you start to get called names you become defensive.

I have an Xbox360. When asked why, I say because my best friend has the same machine and I like playing online with him (especially since we are seperated by 5 states now).

That's when the PS3 fanboy will say I'm just "on the bandwagon" as if that's bad. Last time I checked gaming has almost always been a community type social interaction.

But then I've seen people with PS3's be respectful and have to hear about how Xbox360's have a better collection of games (opinion, not fact) and then see the heated debate about how the PS3 has LBP and Metal Gear Solid.

Can't we just get along to fight for a common goal like forcing Valve to release "Half Life 2: Episode Forever"?

I'm happy with my Wii . I play games for fun. Now-a-days, it's all about "well I got ___ game for ___ system." or "AHAHAHAHAHA you got the ____ system? The graphic suck on that system."
I own a 360 as well, but it's my secondary system. So I don't play it a lot.

while on the subject of the 360 I want to bring this up, for no reason I can think of at all I don't like the 360 as well as the original X-Box. In fact I flat out hate it,now I have no complaints with them or the games really I think there well made and pretty damn solid systems and yet just hearing its name gets me annoyed and when people try telling me about the great stuff it does I just want to go back to there room and smash it to shut them up, even as I type this I feel that twinge of anger in the back of my mind. Now don't make the concision that I treat anyone with a 360 or regular X-Box like a fan boy because I don't but bottom line for no reason I can think of I can't stand the 360 or X-box, can anyone think of why this might be?

I'm a jaded old whore when it comes to gaming - I doubt anyone can be a fanboy after twenty or so years- you just see too many consoles and even companies come and go to feel any kind of loyalty. I just wish that Nintendo would remember those of us that actually put their effin company on the map rather than catering almost exclusivley for retards and five year olds (yes, there are good games on the Wii, but there are many, many more crap shallow ones that boil down to shaking your arm like a pervert in a women's locker room while some flash game quality 3 frame animation plays out ad nauseum), I'd like Microsoft to take its hand out of my pocket every once in a while (Buy the console, buy the game, buy the internet connection, buy the live account, then buy the multiplayer maps seperatly. Wankers),I'd like Playstation to throw that crappy pad out in favour of one that doesnt have analogues that feel like theyve been filled with strawberry jam. PC gaming just seems to toggle along much like it always did, which is nice, provided youve got whatever bit of high tech overpricd tat they've decided we all need to play the latest game...

A knee jerk revulsion of all things Microsoft? I for one can understand that, and I own a 360...

I love my PS2, but when it came down to it I just couldn't afford the PS3. :(

I really only think i have a 360 because me and my mates all got them early on before the PS3 was realized, so the reasoning behind having a xbox is that we got used to it and all have one. I don't think either consoles exclusives warrant buying the other one so i stay where i am. I feel this is the case for many, once you have one theirs no real reason to have the other.

Yet people do like to validate that they made the right choice, you'll notice whenever either the xbox or playstation get a new exclusive or a toy the fanboyism starts from the other side. On a basic level i guess you just dont like thinking you made the wrong choice, which i can completely understand.

How am I supposed to be happy with my free PS3 I won in a blogging competition when everybody on the internetz says it sucks? Last time I checked a free console is a bargain, no matter what it is. Hell, a free Atari Jaguar would be good value, even despite what the AVGN said about it.

Because people don't want to have buyers remorse after just dropping several hundred on a machine to play games. Some are just more stubborn than others.
