It's like when you nuke an motherboard, the lights still shine and it still turns on, but when it does all the fans connected to it spin at 100% and it doesn't do anything.

Also, does your pc boot up fine with the gx2 out and the old radeon in?
Yes. (Not into Vista, though. But that's another headache for another day.)

if you're lucky, nothing will happen. a graphics card is not like a cpu; it will not increase performance by using a dual proccesor. if you are unlucky, you will skew you computer over.

What will happen is only one card will function at a time. So one of the cards may as well not be there. Or at least thats what should happen. But it could just... no it never could... never. *_0
