question for techies

hey guys,

I've recently been getting BSOD 2-3 times a day at irregular intervals and only when playing games.

the error message is: page fault in non-paged area

leading me to believe its a ram issue

I'm using 8gb of ddr3 corsair ram split across 4 sticks all only 2months old and from the same "matched" pack

I've tried taking sticks out to see if one is causing the problem but as the BSOD doesnt happen too often and I can't trigger it i've not got to the bottom of it and i'm a bit stuck as to what i can try.

had a look around the net via google and posted in Microsoft's forums (no reply there) but not found any solutions

can't find the log files either do i need to activate them? not had windows 7 long still getting used to it a bit

any help appreciated

Intel i5 3.60ghz processor
8gb corsair DDR3
nvidia GTX 460
Alesis iO|2 external sound card
windows 7 pro 64bit

Try each RAM stick individually. There's a program you can download called Burn In Test which forces the CPU, RAM, GPU etc to go 100% to determine any hardware faults. (Ignore it if it alerts you about DVD drive, no one bothers putting one in for it)

Try it with each stick and also try removing that external Sound card. you'd be amazed how much Ext' Sound Cards and Modems screw up PCs.

tried all that and no errors :-/
tried a few other diagnostic tools and all say everything's fine.

wondering if its a faulty power supply (corsair x600 600w)

ho hum guess i'll have to get my wallet out and take it in for a test at a shop.

at least as its all under 2months old it all still under warranty
