Games are becoming better and better every day, with technology's capabilities becoming stronger. I think we're quite lucky, most of the games coming out nowadays are actually quite good and entertaining.

I don't see much of a difference. The Golden Age has past but that doesn't mean our games are terrible. We still produce excellent games.

The main thing here to factor in is how you define a good/great/amazing/crap game, I grew up playing games on the atari 2600 moved onto the 48k ZX Spectrum (and 128k variant), then Megadrive, then PS1/PS2, now PS3... There are some great games from all eras and some right shonky ones. I cannot vote on this as the 3 options do not factor enough in, I see difference in the games, but it doesn't mean they are better or worse!

Well in terms of content games in the past were much more imaginative. Stories were better, but I do think that the impact of graphics was more felt... a game could be still considered good only because it had top notch graphics.
I think that in a way it's all the same... But as we are so advance in the technological area we should stop giving a crap about graphics. More story and more imagination, less bling. But that's the customers fault for buying games without souls.

Not by a long shot.

The industry still has the ability to deliver good games when it counts.
Well if we just gonna keep on releasing Modernwarfare-dusty-realism-shits then we will never actually reach that golden age.

I think that it's impossible to compare them, it was a blast a long time ago but now it's different, not bad different but not perfect different also.

We are living in the best days of gaming imo, however, you got to respect old classics. After all, they have started it all.

I chose the 3ed option only because my choice wasnt there, i like most modern games, graphics are nice, decent story (sometimes), but there are some old games i just cant get enough of, admittedly my old games are not that old to most people, but they are to me (Mechwarrior series, diablo series, original HL, Counter strike/source (although its graphics keep it in competition with modern games), AvP.
Oops, sry for the rant.
