Picked "Other" since "Already did" wasn't an option. I played the Free RPG Undercroft on the iPhone. Was about ~40 hours all the way through. Lacking a little polish but otherwise decent.

For the price it was everything you could ask for.

I wouldn't say no, if it's done right. That said, given that even the simplest games eat up my battery like Cookie Monster on a plate of choc chip and hazelnut, the phone would need to be plugged into the charger to make it worth while... and that means I'd probably be at home and so might as well just play it on a console.

Yeah, as long as the controls are decent, i would love to see as many ports of such games.

I like my mobile games to be simple, so I can play for just a few minutes at a time.

Puzzle games are good.

Tetris, Bejewled and pipes are good games for mobile gaming.

I would say 'no' because it's a phone. If you're on it, you can't game. I'll stick to my interruption free DS and, PSP for RPGs and...oh crap, dinner time. /lame joke

I'd gladly play it on a handheld, you can't fallow storyline properly if you're being interrupted by texts and phone calls every few minutes.

I feel like platforms like the i os and Android devices are really meant for more casual games. The projected d-pad is such a clunky and rather annoying control design in my opinion. Until the create a universal controller for my phone or manage to create an intuitive control system that uses the platforms strengths i won't be playing mobile rpgs.

I don't see why my DS couldn't be a phone easily enough, and PSP2 looks to be set to have 2 incarnations, one of which is a phone. Technically my laptops a phone, but not great for pocket mobility or holding to my face XD

Depends on the game and the phone.
Smartphone with a big screen and a turn-based game, sure.
A clamshell and a fast-paced reactive game, no thank you.

I love RPGs on mobile devices. It allows me to enjoy a game without the massive commitment to a couch.

Seriously, absolutely love them on handhelds and mobiles but when I have to play on a full console it just seems like I could be doing something better with my time.

Same here. Of the three JRPGs that I have either beaten or had my save erased while I was on the final dungeon, two of them were Dragon Quest games on the Gameboy Color. There is no way I can sink 40+ hours into a sit-down RPG, at least not when the game design pretty much requires long sessions to get into it. For example, I've put in 76 hours on TF2 since I got it during the Fourth of July sale, but I haven't put more than 5 hours into a sit down RPG in a very long time. This is because I can play a match of TF2 in 10 minutes, but RPGs require a much more serious investment of time per session. Handheld RPGs, if they're well designed, manage to sidestep this, and at the same time make it possible to catch those little sessions whenever you have time, whether it's while you're on the couch or riding a bus or a subway car somewhere.

That said, I voted "maybe,if it was a good port," because a.) I wouldn't want to play a bad port, and b.), even if it was a good port, I can't guarantee that I would buy it, not having a fancy smart phone with an overpriced data plan. Prepaid, essentially disposable cell phones are a much better deal, in terms of value for your dollar. This is important, since I'm a poor college student who has to pay his own cell phone bill at the end of the month.
