Hopefully it's what Spore should have been. An actual game with an insane amount of customization.
I think they may have finally made that program the two guys use in Weird Science use. Not sure but I'm going to start cutting out magazine pics of Einstein, Beethoven, and Kelly LeBrock. Just in case I'm right.

I think it will be a game somewhat reminiscent of star trek where you can represent an alien federation of creatures created using the spore creature creator but broadly representing the trek alien style architypes. The way these aliens will interact as crew on your ship will and on board space stations will be based on the sim style mechanics. Or you could also keep the crew species homogeneous too actually, that works.
Interacting with other vessels, diplomacy, will likely be down to creature architypes somewhat similar to the diplomatic networks in the original space portion of spore.
The game part will comprise of you trying to manage your crew -- you might want to keeping everyone happy or you might want to maintain order and efficient working schedules. I should imagine they will put in various scenarios lifted from trek, going boldly around the spore created universe doing stuff.
At least I hope this is what they do.

I still hate Maxis for so throughly crushing any hopes and expectations I had for this game. They built it up as THE GAME, the one that would negate a reason to make any other game afterwards, and hyped it, and delayed it for YEARS, and then it sucked
Imagine, if you will, Duke Nukem Forever if everyone hadn't given up on it. Imagine BELEIVING that all that time would have made it a good game, and then playing it

I think it will be a action RPG that use the spore creature creator to create you character. I wish it will be spore but much slow evolution you slowly grow instead of just going up layers in the cell stage them after becoming about the size of a small fish you become a fish then as you eat you get XP and DNA. The DNA lets you add stuff to your animals while XP lets you make bigger creatures (size). then after a while you unlock lungs so you can be a fish, amphibian, mammal, bird or reptile. depending on what you pick depends on what animal parts you can use (fur and scales and feathers can be on any animal) then as your brain gets bigger (gradually not in stages) you can combine objects I haven't thought about this idea further than this.
Something that will look incredible at E3, be nerfed down at final release, and have the rest of the game sold of with various buy-able pack's of content/DLC
Sims meets Spore. You create a society, what the people/creatures look like and what the interactions mean.

Maybe Spore armada where you take the next logical step from space ship captain to fleet admiral. Set up patroll routes, expand your territory, commit acts of genocide. Spore was way too kid friendly. I was looking forward to falling upon a civilization age world with my space fleet and knocking them back to the stone age.
