A clone of me is just as lazy as me. A doppleganger is a middle ground. But until the robot uprising, robots are the best option provided.
I'd like a clone. Mostly because I don't like other people. Oh, is this clone exactly the same as me, personality, thought patterns, habits and all at the time of creation? Then ESPECIALLY a clone. So long have I searched for someone to help me absolutely perfectly. Who thought the same as me. Essentially, an extra pair of hands with which to do work. Of course, it'd be more than a tool. Of course I'd be nice to it. That's just the kind of person I am.
Actually, I'd rather have my Y chromosome removed so that my clone is a girl. Not for sex or anything... although that raises some interesting questions. Nope, I'm just curious to see what I'd be like as a girl.

I had to choose robot
A nicer version of me wouldn't be that fun to deal with

A robot. If I'm good, the clone will turn on me, if I'm evil, the clone will turn on me. The doppelganger will betray me to get ahead, even if I am evil like it, but the robot will follow my every command and never try and harm me, do to the laws of robotics.
So it's a choice between a robot, an evil shadow, and a twin brother... well.
- Robot may or may not have emotions, and will almost certainly fall victim to the Uncanny Valley.
- Doppelganger of me would be either Lawful Evil fascist or Chaotic Evil psycho. Both variants seem unpleasant.
So i'd go with a clone, although he'd have to be of the same age as me, and preferably (but not neccesarily) have the same personality. Epic lulz would ensue, and then possibly a world takeover.

The doppelganger just sounds like an annoying person because he's trying to be me.
The clone, if it shares my personality, would attempt to kill me and take over my life. (because thats what I would do.)
The robot could be programmed to do whatever task is at hand: whether it be taking a bullet for me so I could fake my death, or making some pancakes on my desert island hideout.
So I'd go with robot. And if it goes berserk, I'll just kill it terminator 2 style, which, if I remember correctly, involved liquid nitrogen. (but correct me if I'm wrong)

I will get a robot and turn it into my own personal superhero. If all else fails, I can just turn it off and ignore it.
