I really wanted to vote Mechwarrior/Battletech, but I don't think it has a cultural significance on par with Gundam. On the other hand, Star Wars greatly fulfills that role, so it gets my vote, Mechwarrior being a close second.

Well, in my mind there are only three options to choose from for the impending giant mecha war since China already made a giant Optimus Prime robot. I think that we should either make a Megas XLR mecha, a Bender robot, or a Clank robot. If it was Megas XLR or Clank, then it would already be equipped with weapons so we would be set with those two. However if it was Bender then we would have to make it so he could throw Molotov Cocktails and breathe fire from giant beer bottles and a torch that could ignite inside his mouth. Out of three, I would want to see Bender being made the most but if we weren't excluded to only American robots than I would love to see Goemon Impact from the Goemon series being made just because he is that awesome.

Superman. He's an American creation and a symbol of America ideals and culture (truth, justice, and the American way). Not to mention that he is the America dream. (A foreign immigration comes from a completely alien society with nothing and grows up achieve the very best in life by his own work and fortitude). Aside from a giant statue of an apple pie, I can't think of anything better to build as a monument of symbolic value in the US.

Of course you could just say "fuck it" and build a giant Edward Cullen but I think the statue would be burned and violated within a few hours.
