I voted Star Wars characters, but then I thought that we would need a giant robot to wage epic battles against all the Japanese robots that have already been built. So Mechwarrior would have been a better choice.

America needs a giant Jimi Hendrix statue. Now.
Awesome.
OT: I demand a 1:1 replica of the Imperator class Titan Dies Irae!
Except Warhammer 40,000 is an English invention. But they should totally build one over there. That would be amazing.

OT: I assume I'm not the only one who thought the choices on that poll were atrocious. Mechwarrior hasn't had enough of an effect on pop culture on a whole, "Star Wars characters" is too vague, Cullen would be sickening and everyone will have forgotten Twilight in five years, and I'm not sure I could look my fellow Americans in the eye if we built a 50-foot bronze statue of a bucktoothed anthropomorphic sponge.

Batman is the obvious choice. Batman or Longcat.

Gordon Freeman. Although I'd prefere it to be built in England so I could vistit it every day and say a prayer.

As awesome as the MechWarriors would be, it's just not American enough for us to build a giant statue of it. Out of the options, it would HAVE to be Star Wars characters. However, if it was up to me, I'd build statues of all the Ghostbusters.

Batman. Definitely Batman. Or perhaps Sam Walton. Or offend everyone and put one up of Sam Walton dressed as Batman.

MEGAS! Megas needs to be built!

How could anyone say no to that?

Don't answer that. If you say no I have no wish to know!
Tee-hee, I was thinking the same thing actually.

I would say Mechs but Japan beat us to that: have you seen the giant gundam statues they have there?

So I have to suggest giant UFOs like in Independence day. Perhaps giant balloons hanging over landmarks.
