For those that play Mass Effect 2, I'm planning on getting that game myself as soon as possible, but I have a few questions that need answering so that I can be fully prepared for once I play it. I was advised against using just the Mass Effect wiki partly due to how people can edit it may screw it up, but mostly because there's info on it that I'd want confirmation on, and I suspect those of you who have played Mass Effect 2 would be better at answering my questions than that aforementioned wiki.

1.) I heard about the Lorik glitch, it supposingly if expoited can easily give maximum Paragon and Renegade points, but transferring ME1 saved games where that glitch is used supposingly reverses choice made in them and corrupts the saved games themselves, is that true?

2.) Will importing a ME1 saved game with a maxed-out Paragon Shepard into ME2 grant me access to all Charm dialogue options?

3.) Thermal clips, if you're a Soldier class, what's the best approach to fight hostiles if you run out? and what's the best approach to managing them so I don't run out too quickly in Mass Effect 2?

1) Never heard of it.

2) No, you get some bonus but you have to rebuild your points.

2) There are so many you never run out much and if you do you just switch to another weapon until you have collected some more.

1) No, I used the Lorik Qui'in (I'm guessing that's what you're referring to) glitch and my character was fine when imported.

2) No, maxed out for any alignment will not get you all Charm options, as those are now based on how Paragon/Renegade you are. Still, maxed out Paragon in ME will not give you maxed out in ME2, maybe about 1/10th of the way.

3) It's exceedingly rare to run out of thermal clips for all your weapons, as they're dropped by every enemy, pretty much. You can use powers if you run out. To avoid running out, fire carefully and , if you're weapon is automatic, fire in bursts.

I recommend Mass Effect 2 highly, if that helps.

1.) Never heard of that happening, and I've done all sorts of crazy things with the saved game editor without corrupting my saves.

2.) Your ME1 paragon/renegade score only gives you a small bonus to your initial ME2 scores. I found most charm options were easily accessable in ME2, and rarely came across a greyed-out option.

3.) If you're a soldier, you'll rarely run out of clips. Having a sniper rifle, assault rifle, pistol, shotgun, and heavy weapon, you should be good for ammo even on insanity difficulty.

You shouldn't need to worry about ammo in any given weapon unless you over-use the high damage version. If you're a soldier then you'll probably never run out unless you actually try, but you could always use the low damage, high rate-of-fire versions if you really have to.

1. you shouldnt need to exploit the game, the paragon/renegade points and options are relative to your level, as long as you go one way or the other all the time youll get access to every option at the time it presents itself.

2. See above

3. you get enough ammo

1) I'm not sure about the options. I don't believe it would work like that, but the choice only affects one tiny side-mission and not the whole story.

2) No, your Paragon and Renegade dosen't carry over.

3) Use your teamate's special abilites. A good biotic can do a lot of damage and leave them vunerable for your other squad mate, but take it from one Solider to another, you'll very rarely lose all ammo.
