I don't know what you've been hearing, but everything I've seen and heard(and I've been following the forums as well as Trent Oster's tweets) has been encouraging.Anthraxus said:I don't know about Beamdog and expecting anything worthwhile to come from them, or trusting them with a new d&d game. Especially from what I'm hearing/seeing about this upcoming 'enhanced' edition. I'd rather Obsidian get hold of the license myself.(especially now that Tim Cain is there)
But you still have the problem of WotC not wanting to let them use older editions for a NEW game.
As far as new games, well I wouldn't worry too much about that. The new edition in the works seems to be shaping up to be something that a fan of 2nd Edition should be fairly comfortable with. WotC seems to have gone back to basics, and is building up from there instead of evolving the game further along 4E's departure.
