My computer is newly built, and I have a question about something that comes up. My computer boots up just fine for about 30 seconds, and then all the fans slow down and the system display just blanks out. Any ideas?

My guess is that my PSU isn't powerful enough, but I may be wrong.

Run the BIOS and check the temps of all the components. You don't want anything running too far over 30/40 degrees.
Could also be a problem with the GPU/display drivers. Ugh I hate building PC's. (I lie, I love it but not at 2am)

EDIT: Oh and what Operating System do you run? If you're running an 'invalid'... copy of Windows it may cause a problem

No, my temp is completely fine, I mean it has only been on for like 30 seconds so I'm not quite sure how it could overheat that quickly.

Also, it doesn't matter what I do, it just shuts off after 30 seconds, even though its working completely fine and I can see everything.

I use Windows Vista 64 bit, a legit copy, with 8 gigs of DDR2 RAM. First computer I have really built, so a bit of a toughie.

You've checked all the components on the BIOS yeh, - processor, GPU, RAM, fan speeds...
Are you using the stock heatsink bundled with the processor or a specialised one?
My mate had problems recently with his new build, stock heatsink was rubbish so he got a special nVidia one, which worked, but ended up diverting too much heat to the Southbridge still causing crashes...
If the hardware's all fine I'm a bit scuppered, I'm a bit pants on the software side of things...
