Quick FF13 - related question

Fellow FF13 players, I have a question. What is the function of the little miniature Cie'th stones which appear around the orb in the Paddraean archaepolis? I thought that more missions would appear when you defeat all of the marks which are Cie'th, or maybe just all of the missions...
but I've done all the missions, and they're still just floating there, taunting me.
Can anyone help?

arent they just so you can re-do the missions? or teleport depending on which one?

You can re-do the missions again.

There's no real point in doing it, but it's there if you want it.

Haven't played in a bit... but I'm thinking they're related to the very last mission... I don't know, never went that far...

Yeah, the one with all the Cie'th stones around it that give missions. They stay there so you can do the missions again after you've beaten them already, right? Just like all the others.
