Quick Nerd Rage over OddWorld: Strangers Wrath

Quick story time first, then thread.

I been cleaning out my basment when i found my original xbox with my abosolute favorite game for it, Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath. I recently replayed the original oddworlds on steam but havnt played SW in awhile. Since my Xbox is broken, I decided to pop it in my 360, but alas no such luck. So I checked the backwards compatibillity list on microsofts webstie and its not on the list but games such as...Barbie? Horse Adventures? Wild Horse Rescue, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe , and whatever the hell Egg Mania?: Eggstreme Madness is. Now i would have no problem with this not on the list if it was supported as a classic for me to download but games like Zapper and the other crap? I just want to play SW again, is that to much to ask? Let me know what you guys think

Well, Unreal Tournament 2 doesn't work either, so that shows you how great the backwards compatibility works.

I agree completely and love Stranger's Wrath a ridiculous amount.

Microsoft obviously never considered backwards compatibility to be a priority. Unfortunately they left a lot of great games on the wayside and, as you mentioned, made quite a few terrible games backwards compatible for seemingly no reason. To that regard, I suspect the publishers of those games worked out some kind of agreement or arrangement with Microsoft.

But thankfully I still have my original Xbox, and it's in fine working order, so this isn't a problem for me.

I loved Strangers Wrath! It's reasons like this that make me wish I still had my original x-box.

Same thing happened to me. I dug around in my attic for 2 hours found my xbox, the power adapter, and I bought the other cable for about $10. I then found out my disc tray was jammed, fixed it in about 20 min. and then I had a FUCKIN BLAST. great game.

You also can't play Beyond Good and Evil, Kingdom Under Fire: Crusaders, Spartan: Total Warrior or motherfucking Timesplitters on the 360.

Yeah, Microsoft pretty much half-assed backwards compatibility before scrapping it back in '07 without really telling anybody.

I think backwards compatibility was made only too sell more consoles and alot of good games cant be play on the 360

Man, I never even though to try Beyond: GV on it, Bought it on steam awhile back and never though of it but they do have Oddworld: Munchs Oddessy which is by far the weakest game in the franchise, not story wise but the gameplay was crap.
