Quick pokemon 2nd gen video games question

Okay so I'm planning to buy Pokemon crystal off ebay soon but I remembered something about you can only catch 1 legendary dog from each game. I was wondering which game had the fire dog, Entai (I think).

Since those games were made for the GBC will they still work on GBA?!?


Also, Is anyone willing to sell me said game?!?

If it's a Gameboy advance yes color games will work on it but will work but not on DS. and the legendary dog I don't know let me wiki it.....

Crystal has both legendary birds and all three legendary dogs. Gold had Ho-Ho and the dogs, silver had Lugia and the dogs, and as Entei is one of the dogs every game has him.

and yes, I play them on my GBA from time to time.

Also, the three legendary dogs are on Silver, Gold AND Crystal. Silver and Gold are just focused on the Lugia and Ho-Ho(Sp).

Crystal just changes up the story mode a bit by making the story actually FOCUS around Suicune, the dog you'll be seeing the most of in Crystal.

Wait, there was a story? I never pay attention to the story. all I know is there's some group trying to destroy the world with a legendary Pokemon, did Crystal really focus on Suicune?

Somewhat, to the degree that it shows up routinely and you can see it on screen. Plus people will actaully acknowledge that they saw it. I don't blame you about ignoring the 'cinematics' in Pokemon games. The built in tale it tries to weave is always God awful and always ends with you:

1. Going to Elite 4
2. Beating Rival who's a total arrogant asshole
3. He whines when you beat him
4. Professor from that gen comes from fairy-tale land all of the sudden and tells your rival to suck it up
5. The power of friendship rules all!

All the legendary dogs can be acquired in all of the games. You don not need multiple copies to get all of them.

Also, I'm not sure if most copies of G/S/C even work anymore.

Gold and Silver actually had both Ho-oh and Lugia. In Gold, Ho-oh was level 40 and Lugia was level 70, in Silver, it is the other way around. You are just unable to fight them until a certain time in each game.

You can get all three dogs .
Also, it's quite straightforward to get the Ice dog (I forget it's name) in Crystal.

well yea, u have to search for the other 2 dogs, but suicune is put before you to catch as part of the story

You can actually get all three Entei, Suicune, and is it Raikou from each game.

Gold and Silver actually had both Ho-oh and Lugia. In Gold, Ho-oh was level 40 and Lugia was level 70, in Silver, it is the other way around. You are just unable to fight them until a certain time in each game.

Wow, I know my pokemon a little too much.

And the reason why all that's significant is that whichever one you get at 70 doesn't know its signature move - Sacred Fire for Ho-oh, Aeroblast for Lugia - and with no Heart Scale Move Tutor in GSC, you can't get it back. Try to go with Gold on this one - Sacred Fire is pretty amazing, but Aeroblast is pretty meh, especially given Lugia's status as a wall instead of a sweeper. If memory serves, Crystal gives you both without their signature move.

Crystal was bundled with a GBA by option, so it'd be pretty amazing if it didn't work on GBA.
