Recently I grabbed the Mass Effect Trilogy on the PS3. I figure it's never going to come to the Wii U and due to DLC issues, my 360 copy of ME is virtually unplayable (well...I can start new Sheps but that's a different issue)

Here's the thing though: I've gone through two playthroughs so far and if you don't remember, there are achievements/trophies (trochievos if you will) for playing through "most of the game" with certain squad-mates. These generally unlock after completing the third or fourth main plot mission (Feros, Noveria, Theron and, Illium...I think Illium). It's been years since I played this on the 360 but as I've played on the PS3, I've kept my parties consistent, my main paragon used Garrus and, Liara from the point I unlocked them to the end-game. My main renegade used Tali and, Ashley from the point they were unlocked through to the end game. The trophies I unlocked however haven't reflected that...just the Turian and, Quarian buddy trophies were unlocked (I was really surprised that I didn't get the trophy for having Ashley around)

Anyway, is this a known glitch/bug? Are there other glitches/bugs I should be on the look out for when it comes to unlocking trophies? I don't really have an issue playing through ME1 another 4 times but I'm kind of annoyed that I might have to...I already have to do at least 2 more runs for the difficulty-based trophies...and the powers-based trophies (stupid AI hacking and Neural Shock trophies e.e)

Thanks if you can help and thanks if you've read through to this point!

The Liara achievement is very difficult to get, the Ashley achievement less so. Basically it counts side-missions in a weird way that seems to be completely counter-intuitive, meaning that not only must you have them in your party for the majority of main missions, but also the majority of side-missions as well. This can be extremely problematic for Liara, as you don't get her until after you leave the Citadel, where all the side-missions actually count toward the achievement. Even if you do, skip all the side-missions for the Citadel, get Liara, and come back to do them all there is still the chance you missed something small and fucked up that run. When I tried to get the Liara achievement, I did all that and only got the achievement when I entered the council chambers for the final battle. That is right, I got the achievement as I entered the last room in the game. Talk about cutting it close.

For the Ashley achievement, it actually sounds like you may have some sort of bug I am not aware of, as the Ashley and Kaiden achievements are by far the easiest companion achievements in the game.

Thanks much for the info and tips...of course I am reading this right as I've completed just about all of the early-game Citadel missions...looks like I'm going to make this my Wrex/Ashely run >.>;;

Liara is a pain to get. As the second post said, side missions count. So, here's the thing to do for her: Don't do ANYTHING else besides the bare minimum you need to in order to get out of the Citadel. Don't talk to anyone, don't do any favors, don't even start quests. Go straight to Liara, then come back and do everything with her. All those early quests you skipped. Keep in mind that you must do a majority of the game with her, and that means you need to track down as many side quests as you can get. Check all the planets in a system, do the DLC with her, everything you can find. And then, before you reach the point of now return, check to make sure you didn't miss any side missions. Assuming you did everything, you should get her trophy near the end of the game if I remember right. It's not glitched because I got it, but it can be tricky.

As for Ashley, there does seem to be something...odd about hers. As soon as she joined my party, she didn't leave it. I did all the side missions, completed three of the four main planets, and her trophy still hadn't popped. It didn't pop until I completed the Bring Down the Sky DLC. I remember because it was such an odd place, considering that I had almost everything else done with her. Just have her in the party the whole time and again, do everything.

you need to get Liara the very first thing after leaving the Citadel basically. it's Nearly impossible otherwise. I think that's really the only hiccup of a cheevo. Good luck on Insanity ;P do yourself a favor and DON'T do everything everything on Insanity (like I did). It's just not worth it.
