A super power where you can see everything around you with your mind's eye so to speak, but not with your actual eyes, what's that called? To able to constantly be aware of your surroundings in their entirety. Has this power been named?

It's not Omniscience because that would be the power to know EVERYTHING, not just what's around you. Omni means ALL and Sciens means KNOWING or TO KNOW. Perhaps I can combine other latin words?

Ambi-science? Hmm... sounds fake. Help?!?!

If I get an answer by all means derail this thread and talk about other super powers.

EDIT: You know what, I'm going to claim I coined that term now for this purpose. Although, I googled it and only a program/app seemed to come up, and they only chose the word for word-play sake.

Pronounced = AMBI-SH-UNCE

Instead of Omniscience (pronounced OM-NICH-ENCE)

After all, it was a lone science-fiction writer / conspiracy theorist who invented the word TELEPORT in the early 1900's (I think).

Thanks but no thanks escapist community. Found my own answer.

According to this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_superhuman_features_and_abilities_in_fiction#Personal_physical_powers

It is Ecological Empathy.

Something like Kenbunshoku Haki?
Ecological Empathy sounds more like "to be one with nature" than global awareness.
Seriously the word is at the tip of my tongue I just can't remember...

Ecological Empathy doesn't quite fit. Its fairly exclusively linked to nature, and tends to run more along the lines of being able to tell the physical condition of the local plants and/or actually communicating with them.

Calling it a form of Claivoyance would be a better match. It is defined as the ability to sense information about an object/objects not available using primary senses.

I pretty sure you would call that power extra sensory perception.
I had a character like that once and that's why I used.

Well go with your gut I guess... but just to add my own input. This seems like a variation of Mental Projection. Think Spidey sense.

Omnivision. I know it may not be technically correct, as you'd need to see EVERYTHING, but it can easily work. Or you could call it "mental awareness" - just make stuff up, why do you need an exact name?

And also this. If I hear "Ecological Empathy" I would imagine somebody sitting in the forest and communicating with the trees rather than a dude who's aware of everything around him.

I was also thinking of this, yes. And I fixed a typo. Clairvoyance is also fitting for such a power, although it does sound a tad more prophetic in nature, technically fits. Also - ESP or second sight but those might be "nicknames" of the power, so to say, they aren't the name.

Depending on the context you need to use it, you can also slap other stuff on it - "360 degree vision" for example, it doesn't matter you're not using actual eyes - the term is still correct. Also, "mental/astral projection".

It's for a story I'm writing and I didn't want to rip directly off other superheroes. For example, it's different to the spidey-sense someone mentioned earlier.

Just wanted a name for it that people would kind of understand. Some suggestions on this page are quite good so I might stick with a mix of them.

Yeah, in that case you don't need the exact name, just something that would sound OK. Make stuff up is what I'd suggest - omnivision is good enough as it would be the in-universe name (I guess) - it doesn't need to be exact (as maybe those who named it either didn't know or didn't care) just close enough. But take your pick, there is plenty of names you can use.
