I know QTE's (Quick-Time Events) are still commonly used. All i'm really interested in,
is why? Why do developers use them, just to make cutscenes more emersive?
Or maybe some people feel like they contribute to (some) games.

My question for you is very simple: How do you think about QTE's in games and
(especially if you think the are a good thing) do you know a game where it is
actually appropriate or put into good use?

Hmm, Lara Croft's pretty good at these, but she does use them quite alot, and the prince of persia (I'm thinking two thrones here) had some decent QTE'S for stealth kills.

I'm not going to be a dick like some people are and say. "WRONG FORUM!"

I'm one of the people who really likes Quick-Time events, what's wrong with them!? I think they're fun.

Don't apologize. It was an honest mistake :)

I like QTE's especially the ones in Shenmue 1 and 2. They were really fun.

1. welcome to the escapist
2. wrong forum
3. i have no qualms with quicktime events. i liked assassins creed's sort of things where you don't die if you do it wrong but you just don't kill them.

I only like quick time events when they don't involve button mashing and have preset buttons that are decided based on the normal action that the button performs.
