Hey, this is an issue which I am currently working on resolving between GameStop and a third party called Complete Savings, and its just something I wanted to warn other gamers about, considering there are several new games coming out now.

When using the GameStop online purchasing system, you will often be asked if you'd like to get a $10 free coupon. Do not click on that link! GameStop will instantly send your bank information to this third party, Complete Savings, who will then charge you $12 a month for various, vague, shopping discounts. That link I referred to is a GameStop link, and they will send you to a survey page (which I exited, I never fill out online surveys,) on their site. Neither GameStop nor Complete Savings sent me an email saying I had signed up for anything, this third party just starting charging me.

Complete Savings was quick to refund my money for one month and cancel the one coming through this month, but GameStop is ardent they have done nothing wrong, and is doing their best to refuse refunding the money for the other 3 months I was with this scam service.

I'm just putting this up to warn people about this rather unscrupulous dealing from GameStop so noone else gets hit with this annoying scam. Has anyone else fallen victim to this scam? (It occurs with PizzaHut online as well)

Im sure consumer protection law that they cannot charge you without you giving consent.

Send an email to Gamestop & Complete savings asking Where you have signed to give the third part company access to your bank details.

If gamestop have given out your bank details to a third party, and you live in the US, Sue them for $920375,000,000,000 - Because that seems to be the trend.

If you are in the UK, Contact Trading Standards.

Yay, another reason for people to hate gamestop...

I must say, I truly hate these transparent money-grabbing scams that these companies try to pull... It's just not bacon...

It's really more like $54872,000,000 but yeah in all seriousness handing out your bank info to a third party is a huge deal. As in it's every illegal. Talk to lawyers etc.

I do that kind of thing. A lot. However, surely the name is more important than the avatar in this situation...

Anti-derail shield. I just checked out gamestop's site and saw no mention of a coupon... Am I missing something?

I do believe they only show it to you after you make a purchase. That way you think its some kind of redeem code that you got for purchasing the game.

I must say I agree with everyone else here - this is the last bit of business I'll be doing with GameStop. After this shit show I'm not going to deal with them anymore.
