I feel important for at least one moment in my life sniff sniff. When i see the 1 message in inbox my heart leaps with joy sometimes to be shattered with another meaningless badge.

In reality most of the people quoting me recently seem to not comprehend the point I'm trying to get across(possibly my own wording) or manipulating the idea so that it fits into the soapbox they want to stand on.

Lets me know someone actually read what I said and I didn't just waste my time. It's why I barely ever post on the third page of something. I don't care if it's positive or negative, they could call me a baby eating douchenozzle who should die in a burning building and I'd think to myself "Hey! He/She read my post!" Then I realize they said I was a baby eating douchenozzle who should die in a burning building and get sad.

I know it seems pathetic, but I really really love it. It makes my day just a little bit brighter.

I think I just like knowing that people have seen what I said. I have importance in this world!

I hate it when (of course) someone is disagreeing with me, or it's in a thread like "What's your favourite drink?". Which is usually a "This", which I also hate.

I see my (1) message and usually think I broke some unknown rule and the mods are hammering me. Then I see it's a quote and think someone is planning to verbally gut me over my ideas or preferences. I've been wrong on every account so far and hope to keep it that way.

Well, its a clear cut sign some body somewhere has payed attention to smtn you said... And for a place where people dump their thoughts.... It can be quite comforting no?

OT: i love being quoted actually, it gives my life purpose instead of seeing that sad "no new messages" and it lets me know that i did something people actually gave two shits about!

I love it. I just loving seeing the little red text and thinking "Oh God yes!"

Lets me know someone actually read what I said and I didn't just waste my time. It's why I barely ever post on the third page of something. I don't care if it's positive or negative, they could call me a baby eating douchenozzle who should die in a burning building and I'd think to myself "Hey! He/She read my post!" Then I realize they said I was a baby eating douchenozzle who should die in a burning building and get sad.

I know it seems pathetic, but I really really love it. It makes my day just a little bit brighter.

I think I just like knowing that people have seen what I said. I have importance in this world!

Oh, it's a quote. No doubt it's some turd-farmer telling me I'm wrong about whatever I said.

When I see the number, I have this expression:



I hate it when (of course) someone is disagreeing with me, or it's in a thread like "What's your favourite drink?". Which is usually a "This", which I also hate.

I see my (1) message and usually think I broke some unknown rule and the mods are hammering me. Then I see it's a quote and think someone is planning to verbally gut me over my ideas or preferences. I've been wrong on every account so far and hope to keep it that way.

Well, its a clear cut sign some body somewhere has payed attention to smtn you said... And for a place where people dump their thoughts.... It can be quite comforting no?

Edit: Just realized I went straight to posting after reading up to the third post... without quoting... I feel dirty x.x

Usually I get all excited because I think someone quoted a really good thing I said, but it turns out was some random comment.

I just wanted to see what would happen if I quoted like almost everybody from the first page.

I actually feel really good, as for the most part I've gotten really good conversations from quotes.

And then I get people who either read my comment completely wrong or who decide to read it part of the way through and stop to quote me and tell me I'm wrong.

Quote theory no.1 I'm pretty sure it's IBM (Incredible Bullshitting Man) laying a trip mine of some kind...

Quote theory no.2 Someone who's quoting me for something I said.

Quote theory no.3 "This" (I get that a lot...)

Quote theory no.4 Someone thinks I'm wrong and tries to prove me that i'm wrong...(I didn't see this in a long while).

Quote theory no.5 Grammar errors. Unless it's obvious, I don't care about that. By the way, no one likes Nazis.

Quote theory no.6 Someone who'll quote me to make a "joke" about every theory that I just posted. Let me tell you something: You better make me laugh or you'll be some petty clown who just failed.

I usually get all happy inside.
I always liked it when I saw how many "Basically, This." quotes people got, but then I realized how fucking annoying it was to get like 4 quotes (I actually have) all just saying that.

I love it when people quote me it just makes me all excited.

I really like being quoted, even if the person quoting me is talking smack about what I said. Every time I come to the Escapist and I see a notification of new messages it's almost like Christmas. What thread was I quoted in? What did they have to say? What will I have to say in response?

It's so exciting!

I do love being quoted. Particularly if I think I've said something witty.
But I hate finding out that I've been quoted just for someone to say "this" or something like it.

I don't mind it that much. It has led to some pretty interesting conversations for me so I welcome it.

Normally I think, "Okay cool, someone noticed what I said." I've actually been getting a lot of quotes today due to trying to spark a revolution against Zynga in March Mayhem and by answering questions people are asking or by encouraging them to use the twitter/facebook votes.

I go mad with rage at the thought that someone might disagree with me and they quoted me to explain why i'm wrong.

I kick my dog, throw my cat, slap my mama, and tell my dad he dissapoints me.

I feel important for at least one moment in my life sniff sniff. When i see the 1 message in inbox my heart leaps with joy sometimes to be shattered with another meaningless badge.

In reality most of the people quoting me recently seem to not comprehend the point I'm trying to get across(possibly my own wording) or manipulating the idea so that it fits into the soapbox they want to stand on.

In that case, counter quote and argue them until you find their house and savagely beat them.

But seriously, counter quote to make sure they're understanding where you're coming from, or at least try to disapprove of their beliefs if you so feel. Also if you're competitive, quote until you reach a resolution that both side agree on, that way everybody wins!

I make a game of it. Every time I see that I've been quoted I try to guess what post it was that got quoted.

I've become pretty good at it.

The probability of this post being quoted is low, but just saying that raises the odds slightly.
