I don't mind it unless they twist my words around (i.e. putting in a "quote" that's attributed to me that's actually the exact opposite of what I've said).

I hate checking in the morning and seeing a pile of quotes for something I was really worked up over the night before and no longer care about lol.

I hate it, since I'm usually contrarian in my post it usually means an argument to do, or avoid. I actually have more inbox msgs than post... It's slowed down a lot with my lackadaisical short postings.

I enjoy being quoted, when I come home at the end of the day and come here onto the escapist it gives me a great sense of joy to see that my mailbox isn't empty (It's normally quotes, I rarely get mail, I don't pay much attention to group chat and getting a medal isn't a very frequent occurence) because of the sense of mystery it holds. Could this be the start of a debate, could this be the quote that leads to a long time friendship, could it be a quote in which somebody proclaims me as a god among users? All I know is that if I follow up on it I'm sure to be led on a trail that can amuse, perplex and ultimately give me something to do.

It's one of the few joys I have in this world! seeing that little message box with a (1) bliking at me... It fills my heart with a euforia-like state of happiness. For some reason.
I really don't care if it's a quote, becasue I (usually) never say anything that might piss people off.

I don't even mind when people argue your point. It kind of proves that what you said was valid and interesting enough to be worth arguing over. That or that their an idiot for even bothering to argue something that was stupid anyway.

It is a beautiful thing, listening to someone verifying your existence. But it sucks when someone quotes you to say no 'ya bastard, you're wrong.

also....

I don't mind it that much. It has led to some pretty interesting conversations for me so I welcome it.

Honestly, I find it often better when people disagree - at least, if it's a considered disagreement. It amuses me to debate on the internet - and I don't think I've been wrong all that often either, which is also nice.

So, does this post make you feel good or not? :p

For the most part it's quite nice, unless the person quoting you is being aggressive and unreasonable. But you can still have your fun by arguing with them. Regardless of the response, I guess it's just kinda gratifying to know that someone took notice of your post. It explains why trolling is so popular...

I love being quoted, even if someone doesn't approve of what I say, it'll at least lead to a (preferably interesting) discussion.

I like it. I suppose its the discussion I crave. Most of the time there is no discussion which is a bit of a let down, but I still like it. It makes me feel happy that someone noticed one of my posts in the sea of posts that make up the forums.

It catches my interest slightly, but I know well enough to wait to see what they said before being happy, cause it might be someone disagreeing or something.

I enjoy being quoted. It often means that I will be able to get into an interesting conversation or debate with the person I was quoted by.

I was just wondering how everyone felt about being quoted
I think it's wrong. I really think that people shouldn't do it. Oh, wait...

Admit it, everyone sees they've been quoted and is waiting for the day when this happens.

Escapist message

One of your Posts has been quoted by RESPECTEDMEMBEROFTHECOMMUNITY
RESPECTEDMEMBEROFTHECOMMUNITY:-"oh wow your delightful and shrewd insight completely changed my mind about X! I now realise my previous errors on the subject of X and have resolved to follow your teachings instead. You are a poet and a scholar sir, and I will follow you till my dying day; into the gates of hell sir, the very gates of hell"

Doitpow replies:- "Well, if you insist"

I kinda like it. At least it means somebody actually read what I posted, so I feel briefly pleased, significantly moreso if they found what I wrote useful and/or amusing.

What ticks me off, however, is when I answer a question someone has (meaning a question that is looking for an actual answer, not a "what is your opinion on X") and they don't bother to say even a cursory "thanks" in reply. I guess common courtesy isn't so common any more.

It depends. Usually, it's just people who think I'm wrong.
It's always nice to have someone quote and agree with you, or tells you a joke or something.
