I just remembered a couple more.

Your enemy is never a villain in his own eyes. This may offer you a way to make him your friend. If not, you can kill him without hate--and quickly.

--Lazarus Long, from The Notebooks of Lazarus Long by Robert A. Heinlein
All witches are selfish, the Queen had said. But Tiffany?s Third Thoughts said: Then turn selfishness into a weapon! Make all things yours! Make other lives and dreams and hopes yours! Protect them! Save them! Bring them into the sheepfold! Walk the gale for them! Keep away the wolf! My dreams! My brother! My family! My land! My world! How dare you try to take these things, because they are mine!

--Tiffany Aching, The Wee Free Men by Sir Terry Pratchett

"Have you ever faced an Asari commando unit before? Few humans have."

Matriarch Benezia says this in Mass Effect 1 when you're at Peak 15 on Noveria. Not really a deep, existential quote, but it has always stuck with me ever since I fell in love with Mass Effect in '07.
I liked that they reference it in the sequel, by having you walk in on Liara saying it to someone in ME 2, and she gets a bit embarrassed that she's been caught being so threatening.
Also, she threatens to flay her customer with her mind. And that's referenced again in ME3. Man I love the little things ^^

"The whole world runs of fossil fuels. I mean how stupid is that?"-Dr Jenner The walking Dead

It only occurred to me when he said this. It is extremely stupid.

"You think fate has anything to do with this? Fate is merely a war cry of those too scared to think for themselves.''
Clarence in Penumbra: Black Plague is fantastic when it comes to serious and comedic quotes.

And the replacement Captcha in these forums, 'Step Back'. Pretty good quote there too.

There are two ways of doing this. My way, or the he's a dead motherf#$%*@ way. You pick. - The Boss, Conker's Bad Fur Day. This works a bit too well as a pep talk.

and: "Time is like a drug. Too much of it kills you." - Terry Prachett's Small Gods. It's perfect.

Their would be so many, and most have already been mentioned, but I'm going to throw in some quotes from xxxHOLIC here, cause that anime is awesome.

"Living things are restrained by Chains: The laws of nature, the flow of time, the vessel known as your ?body?, and the existence called your mind. The one chain that people can wield: WORDS.?
Yuuko Ichihara (xxxHOLiC)

"Instead of regretting what we cannot do, it is better to do what one can. Even for example, what you do has nothing to do with results, you must forge forward."
Yuuko Ichihara (xxxHOLiC)

oh and of course
"Hold the line" Captain Kirrahe (Mass Effect); God speed you magnificent son of a *****!!!

Faith doesn't require you to be willingly blind or dogmatically stupid...Faith does require that you take risks. Sometimes, you have to risk everything.

Oh my god...HOW DID I (or anyone of you for that matter) FORGET THIS:

"Enough expository banter! Now we fight like men! And ladies! And ladies who dress like men! For Gilgamesh, it's morphing time!"

- Gilgamesh, Final Fantasy V
"If I shied away from all the curses in the world, what sort of Hero would I be? "Suffer all the worlds evil"? Ha, they think they can ruin all me with a mere curse? They should have tripled it's strength! An epic hero is someone who bears the burden of every human in his sight. I've been carrying that weight on my shoulders since the beginning of time!." - Fate/Stay Night Gilgamesh > FF Gilgamesh

OT: Fate/Stay Night has a lot of memorable quotes, off the top of my head...
"...Yes, the desire to protect something... is, at the same time, none other than the wish for something to violate it." -Emiya Shirou

"But that's enough. If there is overwhelming power and speed, there is no room for technique. Techniques are something humans invented to compensate for their weaknesses." -Emiya Shirou

"Saving someone means not saving someone else." -Emiya Kiritsugu

"The only people a superhero can save are the people he sides with." -Archer

And of course...
"People die when they are killed" -Emiya Shirou
"Look, Emiya-kun. People normally die when they are killed." -Tohsaka Rin

Joker - Great. See, this is where it starts, and when we're all just organic batteries, guess who they'll blame? "This is all Joker's fault. What a tool he was. I have to spend all day computing pi because he plugged in the Overlord." - ME2

Unknown Alliance Sergeant - "That means Sir Isaac Newton is the deadliest-son-of-a-***** in space!" - ME2

/hug

You know in that respectable hey bro kind of way...
/Equally manly hug back

That book is nowhere near read enough :(
No its not. Its definitely one of the best books I've ever read. You should read Anansi Boys. It has a nice backstory of Mr Wednesday and his family. (which may sound dull, but it really isn't) It is very much written in the same style as American Gods.
I have yet to find something of Neil's which I haven't read, and it's Anasai not Mr Wednesday :p
Is it? Its been a while since I've read it.
It is indeed, I strongly suggest you try fragile things. Some of the stories are just amazing.
I have and I love it. Also read Stardust... slightly different than the movie.
Yup, read it. Good Omens?

I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing... Only I will remain.
One of my favorite quotes of all time.

"What can change the nature of a man?"

It was not the question in itself, but the context behind it and irony of asking it again.
Just play the [a href="http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/planescape_torment"]bloody game[/a] right now!

Johnny Quid: You see that pack of Virginia killing sticks on the end of the piano?

Pete: Yes.

Johnny Quid: All you need to know about life is retained in those four walls.
You will notice that one of your personalities is seduced by the illusions of grandeur - the gold packet of king size with a regal insignia, an attractive implication towards grandeur and wealth, the subtle suggestion that cigarettes are indeed your royal and loyal friends, and that, Pete, is a lie.

Your other personality is trying to draw your attention to the flip side of the discussion, written in boring bold black and white, it's a statement that these neat little soldiers of death and in fact trying to kill you and that, Pete, is the truth.

Oh, beauty is a beguiling call to death and I'm addicted to the sweet pitch of its siren.
That which starts sweet ends bitter, and that which starts bitter ends sweet.
That is why you and i love the drugs and that is also why I cannot give that painting back. now please, pass me a light (or lie).

Pete: Oh you are something special, Mr johnny quid.
Always loved that one. I also liked when Lenny said "There's no school like the Old School, and I'm the fucking Headmaster!"

OP:
"For every one of us, living in this world
means waiting for our end. Let whoever can
win glory before death. When a warrior is gone,
that will be his best and only bulwark?
Endure your troubles today. Bear up
and be the man I expect you to be"
-Beowulf; lines 1384-1389

Truly the words that all Dark Ages warriors lived by.

I think you got the wording exactly right.

In video games, I'd say the whole war never changes speech. That thing was awesome, especially with the animation to go along with it in fallout 3.

TV: I'd have to say Bazinga has found a place in my heart. go Sheldon

Books: seeing that I'm actually reading game of thrones right now I'd say this one is pretty good

Winter will never come for the likes of us. Should we die in battle, they will surely sing of us, and it?s always summer in the songs. In the songs all knights are gallant, all maids are beautiful, and the sun is always shining. - Brienne the Beauty
