"When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me."

PS: Ironically my favorite IP is Pokemon. Hey, you asked for a quote that stuck with me. Not that I had to follow it.

"All the world's a stage, And all the men and women merely players: They have their exits and their entrances; And one man in his time plays many parts."

Shakespeare quote used by Civilization 4. A few thousand hours of play will do that to you. In fact a handful of other tech quotes from Civ 4 stuck with me like:

"The whole is more than the sum of its parts." - Aristotle
"Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man how to fish and you feed him for a lifetime." - Lao Tzu

"I have asked the plants, but they do not remember. The plants have asked the rocks, but the rocks do not recall. Even the rocks do not recall." - Jak and Daxter, Green Sage

"Enough expository banter! Now we fight like men! And ladies! And ladies who dress like men!" - Final Fantasy V, Gilgamesh

"Things may come to those who wait, but only the things left by those who hustle"
in the movie Predestination.
Apparently it's a quote from Lincoln but I don't think that's actually the case.

Not sure why but this one has stuck with me for years now:

"Listen Simon... Don't forget. Believe in yourself. Not in the you who believes in me. Not the me who believes in you. Believe in the you who believes in yourself" -Kamina, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.

That quote seems to have struck a chord with me in some way, I don't know, it's just...nice, I guess? Although there is also another funny one I found from Gurren Lagann's Kittan character. Though I can't remember the exact quote, it went something like this:

"Do you expect me to say something touching like 'Later, buddy'? See you in hell you bozos!"

Frank Herbert said:
Above all else, the mentat must be a generalist, not a specialist. It is wise to have decisions of great moment monitored by generalists. Experts and specialists lead you quickly into chaos. They are a source of useless nit-picking, the ferocious quibble over a comma. The mentat-generalist, on the other hand, should bring to decision-making a healthy common sense. He must not cut himself off from the broad sweep of what is happening in his universe. He must remain capable of saying: "There's no real mystery about this at the moment. This is what we want now. It may prove wrong later, but we'll correct that when we come to it." The mentat-generalist must understand that anything which we can identify as our universe is merely a part of larger phenomena. But the expert looks backward; he looks into the narrow standards of his own specialty. The generalist looks outward; he looks for living principles, knowing full well that such principles change, that they develop. It is to the characteristics of change itself that the mentat-generalist must look. There can be no permanent catalogue of such change, no handbook or manual. You must look at it with as few preconceptions as possible, asking yourself: "Now what is this thing doing?"
It kind of describes how I think - how I see things.

To each of us falls a task. And all the Emperor requires of us Guardsmen is that we stand the line and we die fighting. It is what we do best. We die standing.

"But time flows like a river...and history repeats..."
-Secret of Mana/Seiken Densetsu 2

Given what I've seen over the last few years, this hits the nail on the head pretty well.
