So I have to ask as I just noticed this, but why is it people can't quote someone who was warned/suspended/etc. for their post? I understand the majority of said posts don't really have much worth quoting, but that doesn't mean they don't plausibly have something worth the time to quote and comment on.

But yeah, just wondering, thoughts on this Escapist?

I guess it's just to try and discourage people from posting things that may result in a warning or whatever. I see your point though - although I have never needed to quote someone under those circumstances personally. But I think everyone should be quotable.

Also, another thought, it may be to prevent arguments.
If one person says something offensive, then someone else quotes them arguing back, then the first person knows that they've been provoked into this argument, and so on - whereas if they cannot be quoted, the originals poster as no idea someone has responded, unless of course they check the thread. Who knows...
